The Beatles versions of "Not Guilty" and "What's the New Mary Jane" and a demo of "Junk" were released on Anthology 3.

The only Western instrument available to the group during their Indian visit was the acoustic guitar, and thus many of the songs were written and first performed on that instrument. Well, 43 years later, thanks to the vinyl boom, it actually is ‘collectible’, and at least according to Discogs worth a ‘median’ of a couple hundred bucks, maybe more because it’s ‘mint mint’. Then listened to the Esher demo album and I must say that I enjoyed this even more, No electric guitar or electronics just acoustic and vocals and was a revelation.

Some home demos and group sessions at Kinfauns were later released on the 1996 compilation Anthology 3. However, while some complained about the lack of a coherent style, others recognized this as the album's raison d'être. The record was originally released housed in an all-white gatefold cover with “The Beatles,” the name of the album, embossed (in white) on the front.

A field recording of a jet aeroplane taking off and landing was used at the start of the track, and intermittently throughout it.
