That probably says something about the mark-up of the individual boxes, but hey, I'll take "free models. For a pure Isengard force from the LOTR Armies book, obvious additions are characters, monsters, missile troops and cavalry.

It's worth noting that you’ve got a whole load of Scouts from your Battlehost untouched here, as well as some spare Dunland and Uruk heroes – so you could easily pad this list to 800pts or beyond. This is a good 150pts above the previous two Battlehosts and comes down to not only having a more expensive main guy, but also having Pippin in the same blister (giving you an extra model).The Battlehost clocks in at 623 if you give Saruman a horse (and horse’s are great for character’s mobility). Why you’d like it: Lots of fast guys, lots of bows, it’s very cinematic, good deployment control, and you get to throw a shield. ME:SBG doesn’t need a tear down and rebuild, which is why the new rulebook is minor changes, and the various errata and FAQs over this edition have been fixing broken combos that players have found to exploit, or correcting minor issues and confirming what the designer meant. Unlike all the other boxes, these guys have no cavalry, but their greater weight of numbers means they're unlikely to have 1 Uruk charged by 1 cavalry model very often. This list is worth taking for a spin if you’ve just dipped your toe in to the game and bought your first battlehost.

The profile for Eomer in particular is also missing heroic actions (because, as was mentioned above, they are avoiding those and only giving you Might to boost your die rolls). Join the ranks of the fallen wizard Saruman, one of the most powerful Istari in Middle-earth™, who personally leads the Isengard Battlehost of Uruk-hai scouts and warriors, accompanied by his trusty sidekick Gríma Snake-tongue. Similarly an Assault on Helm’s Deep Legendary Legion, which plays well at the higher points totals, would take the armoured Uruk Hai as a core.

You can use this force for the Riders of Eomer Legendary Legion from the War of Rohan book, and some more Riders of Rohan and a command pack will always be a solid choice in building a Rohan collection. This path assumes that you’d want to collect general Isengard models with a few Dunland options, and then want to have the ability to run the pure Dunland LL. As the list probably shines most around the 500-600pts mark, and as the second set of Scouts isn’t needed to Ugluk’s scouts, you’d have to really want to play this list at higher points values to justify this purchase, so I wouldn’t recommend it immediately. All of these contain Mordor Orcs (though no Warg Riders for Gothmog I’m afraid) and you can use this battleforce as the basis for those legendary legions. For legendary legions there is The Army of Gothmog, representing the legion of Orcs attacking Minas Tirith from the Gondor at War book, or the Assault on Lothlorien and Fell Beings of Mirkwood from Defence of the North.

Will the Riders of Rohan and the Army of the Dead arrive in time to aid the White city of Gondor against the Dark Lord of Mordor and his orc hordes?This simplification of war gear choices is actually very good and since there aren't any points values associated with these profiles, it makes it easy to "just get going. Because riders can lose their horses and get replaced by foot models, you will want to keep six of your foot models to use for this. Keep up the good work (and looking forward to what you do with the other battle hosts - especially the Gondor one)! Why you’d like it: If you already like the Dunland units, you get to take a LOT of them, and you get a few nice bonuses to boost their effectiveness and killing power.
