Note: Qahwa, an Arabic word meaning coffee, symbolizes not just a beverage but a tradition of warmth, hospitality, and togetherness. Khamrah Qahwa captures this essence in a bottle, allowing you to carry the spirit of Qahwa with you, no matter where life’s journey takes you. Khamrah is whatever you want it to be, but I assume most people'll wear this fragrance in the colder months of the year. It is also when it performs best, though I have worn it to bed in Fall and cooler Spring days. The Angels Share also smells very linear to me, while the Khamrah has a changing scent progression. In Khamrah Lattafa Perfumes there are no alcohol notes at all, it smells of dates, and the date note in it is so strong and obvious that it can be compared with the date of Rouge Sarây Atelier des Ors and certainly exceeds the date of Aziyade Parfum d'Empire and Dates Delight The House of Oud. True, it cannot compete with the most date-like in the world Jardins de Misfah Une Nuit Nomade, which is the pinnacle of dateness, andcannot be surpassed. That base leans heavily on vanilla and the three woods; Mahogany from the heart, and Akigala + Amber woods on the bottom tier. Here and there the benzoin and myrrhe give it extra depth and warmth. I've often heard describe Khamrah as “boozy”, but I'm not getting any of that. Just like the apple pie has never entered my olfactory senses when wearing this chique Lattafa.

In the opening these two spices are strong and when they start to diminish a bit, the cinnamon never leaving completely, they get company from tuberose and milk chocolate covered dates. Yum! Which begs the question: is it really worth it? Sadly, quite often a hype is nothing more than every social media channel copying someone else to stay somewhat relevant. So, am I bravely fighting the label-posse for naught? Which brings me to the Fragrance of the Story: the much lauded, much hyped Lattafa -Khamrah. While it's officially an Arabic concoction considered the second coming of Angel's Share, a popular men's fragrance by Killian, most of us know it's only *loosely* inspired by the boozy apple pie juice. The bottle is duped. The scent? Meeeeh.Yes, it has a big gourmand heart, but there are so many spices and resins in it that Khamrah cannot be called truly sweet.

Inspired by Spice The fragrance starts very nice gourmandig and smells like baked apple with cinnamon. I was totally happy that I did not smell anything from the Akigalawood. But after a few minutes, this note then rose to my nose, at first only discreetly, but with time more intense.A note of hazelnuts unfolds, and Khamrah smells exactly like the Iranian delicacy "ranginak": dates stuffed with nuts and rolled in toasted flour with cinnamon, cardamom and pistachios. The top accord of Khamrah Perfume is the citrusy freshness of bergamot framed by the warm, velvety spice of cinnamon and refined clary sage. The heart of the perfume resonates with the delightful creamy smell of praline, melting in a fragrant haze of sweet fruity notes and tuberose floral nuances. At the same time, the base of Lattafa Khamrah delivers a sumptuous aromatic trail that blends the sensual sweetness of vanilla with spicy precious woods, sweet, smoky oud, smoky aromatic myrrh, spicy tonka bean and vanilla resinous benzoin, shimmering softly in the beams. Refined amber. I have had this perfume in my house for a month now and it gets even more pleasant. I love how it gets more decadent as time goes, without the sweetness becoming too much. Even though the Angels didn't protest to sharing, Lattafa took its pyramid, extracted what they liked most, then doubled down on their own Middle Eastern twist and voila: a gorgeous brown liquid in beautiful bottle entered YouTube Frag-circles and everyone went a lil' cray-cray. (THX for that by the way. Not. I tested it júst after release, but had to wait for €€ to buy a full bottle. By the time I could, the hype had doubled the price here.

I own, by the way, the Angels' Share and can really not understand that many smell there a similarity. The Angels Share smells for me intensely hazelnut, woods and cognac and also the sillage is dominated by these notes. Why are you wearing a men's perfume? I'm asked that too often. Let's just get that nasty question out of the way first, shall we? Like many of us, I don't like the idea of copying fragrances. Or rather, attempts to copy because really good copies do not exist. No imitation of a popular fragrance, whether it be Lost Cherry Tom Ford (which I think is the record holder for the number of imitations and fakes)or Angels' Share By Kilian, or La Vie Est Belle Lancôme, will smell as good as the original. It just won't smell the same. There can be no replacement and the quest to find a cheaper dupe is meaningless.Khamrah has a gingerbread meets cinnamon rolls kind of sweetness with a few extra delicious things thrown in. Which isn't strange considering the notes of cinnamon and nutmeg in the top. Kad sam raspakiravala poklon, odmah zatim sam ga i špricnula na ruku i rastopila se od ljepote i zahvalnosti. Topli slatki začinski miris kako ja mnogo volim. No međutim, za neko vrijeme je uslijedilo i nošenje ali ja sam se s vremenom sve manje nalazila s njim. Da su ostale cimet i datulje na meni kao što stoji u sastavu, ma super, ali ja sam sve više osjećala miris oštrog drveta, friškog papira, dimova, sa tek malim natruhama slatkog, i sviđa se to meni ovako kad kažem, ali opet nositi je bilo nešto drugo. Nisam to bila ja.

The fact is that I tried Khamrah Lattafa Perfumes without even knowing what its bottle looked like. Among the samples of Arabic fragrances that one of the readers sent me was Khamrah. I liked it very much - a frank South, not even trying to flirt with Western tastes: fleshy dates and Arabic sweets, an abundance of beautiful spices, but at the same time without the obsessive suffocating sweetness that is often characteristic of Arabic perfumes. Projection and sillage are moderate. Longevity is ...hours. And hours. Which came as quite the surprise. My skin doesn't project and “eats perfume”, making beastmode fragrances and very longlasting scents a near impossibility. Khamrah does it though. Even a first test with one spray on the top of my hand stayed for 8 hours. A full wear remained even longer and kept a moderate projection quite constantly. I've not tested on clothes, as I rarely do so, but I wouldn't be surprised if that would result in a 24h+ wear.
