Here, the notebook continues to shine, turn in scores of 8011 and 3054 in PCMark Vantage and PCMark 7, respectively. While the PCMark 7 score is actually a notch higher than that of the 15-inch Latitude E5530, the Vantage score of 8011 is 8% below that of the E5530 (which scored an 8720). Regardless, these are nonetheless impressive scores that should serve as encouragement no matter what your intended use. Dell Latitude E5430 measures 324 x 355.60 x 192.5 mm (W x D x H) and weighs 2040 g. When compared to ultrabooks, the laptop appears to be a bit big. The Dell Latitude E5430 laptop has two RAM slots with a total capacity of 16GB – 8GB in each slot. The device I tested came with 8 GB of RAM in one slot and no RAM in the second slot.

Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro. Nonetheless, its size is scarcely limiting when you consider its well-designed form factor. Despite the weight and size, it feels comfortable on the lap. While integrated solutions can’t compete in terms of performance with mid-range or better discrete graphics adapters, they are better in terms of power consumption and cost. You also get an HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, USB 3.0 port, and Ethernet are all located on the left side of the laptop. The laptop I reviewed came with a 4 core Intel Core i7-3520M processor. I ran a Geekbench 5 test to determine the processor’s performance.

Finally, the transfer speeds from the hard drive and the 8-in-1 memory card reader are excellent, but they are slower than those available on more expensive laptops. As a result, I’ll give it a seven in this category. Dell Latitude E5430 Graphic Card Performance Review Additionally, with ExpressCharge, you can charge the battery in Dell Latitude E5430 fully in less than two hours. These battery optionshave a feature called ExpressCharge. This is a term used by Dell to describe a circuitry that allows the battery to charge faster than usual. Furthermore, ExpressCharge batteries may reach a maximum charge of more than 80% in just one hour of charging. As I mentioned earlier, you can also get the Dell Latitude E5430 laptop with a two-core Intel Celeron Processor B820 processor. This processor features a 2 MB cache memory, 1.70 GHz base frequency, and 3.60 GHz boost frequency.

Amazingly, with a few exceptions, the Latitude E5430 actually manages to stay cooler than the larger E5530, even with the same CPU and other basic components. Following an hour of simultaneous CPU and GPU stressing for a full hour using Furmark and Prime95, the underside of the notebook reached an average temperature of just 35. 6°C, which is nearly a full degree lower than the E5530’s temperature under the same conditions. This renders the notebook comfortable for use on the lap even when under load in most situations. Next, we enabled all wireless radios, set screen brightness to the highest level, and enabled the “High Performance” power profile. We then initiated the Classic Test within Battery Eater to simulate heavy system stress. In this instance, the notebook endured a still commendable 2 hours and 25 minutes. In comparison, this result outperforms the HP Omen 15. The Intel Core i7-10750H processor in the HP Omen 15 scored 1272 points in my test. The same applies to the Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU, but perhaps to an even greater extent. This GPU has consistently proven itself to be faster than even the highest recorded scores of its HD 3000 counterpart in nearly every situation. This leaves little doubt that the notebook should be able handle most any low- to mid-range graphical task with no trouble. The first thing to note is that the casing, while again, not as heavy-duty or high-quality as the front-running E6XXX models, is still predominantly solid. The first clue the E5430 offers in this regard is its considerable weight. At 2.51 kg, this is a far cry from a featherweight ultraportable. Nevertheless, in conjunction with its reasonably-designed form factor, it is hardly restrictive in its size. It feels comfortable on the lapand is easier to use than many smaller notebooks in such a position thanks to an adequately-sized, flat palm rest—and this is in spite of the weight and size of the extended battery we received to boot. Very little flexis detectable anywhere apart from just above the optical drive, which is a typical and forgivable weakness of nearly every notebook. While our E5530 review unit was afflicted by some notable gaps between casing components, we are pleased to report that no such problems apply to the E5430 we received.

Finally, in this review, I will give the Dell Latitude E5430 an eight for processor performance. To evaluate the storage transfer rate of the 320 GB hard drive that came with the laptop I reviewed, I ran a benchmark. It competes directly with Hitachi’s Travelstar Z7K500.The Latitude E5430 can be outfitted with either a 320 GB (encrypted or non-encrypted) or 500 GB 7200 RPM hard drive, or for a little higher cost, a 128 GB Solid State Drive (SSD). Our review unit came equipped with a Seagate Momentus Thin ST320LT007-9ZV142 7200 RPM 320 GB drive. Like the drive we received in our E5530 review model, this is a smaller, single-platter 7 mm-height hard drive that normally is meant for situations where drive size is a prohibitive design factor (such as in many ultraportables). The E5430 actually features a fully-sized 9.5 mm-height drive bay, so any traditional SATA laptop drive will also fit. In comparison, the Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, on the other hand, received 2452 points. Sadly, the Dell Latitude E5430 falls short of the Dell Inspiron 15. The lid of the laptop is supported by brushed metal, with a chrome Dell logo in the middle, for a subtle uniformity. It’s not only attractive, but it’s also quite protective – preventing all but the tiniest bit of distortion on the LCD panel even under moderate stress, as well as providing impressive scratch resistance.
