This book had ALL of the best tropes and I adored it.

Indira stopped. She wasn’t sure if it was the weight of the items she carried or the hurt that was radiating out from the center of her chest, but she realized she was trembling. She turned to look over her shoulder at the stranger. Even though The Plus One was emotional, it was also sexy and funny. Colin's wedding and the preparations leading up to his big day were fun, and I loved seeing Harper, Lizzie and Thu again! I listened to an audiobook version alternating with an Ebook. The narration was done by Imani Jade Powers and Joe Arden. I like that the series was all different narrators so listening doesn’t get the stories and characters mixed up. The narrators compliment each other very well while each takes their gender POV. Both gave amazing performances on the stress of PTSD, the overwhelming sounds of everyday and, of course, the passion they eventually felt for each other. For me, the audio gave the characters life and a specific “look” that I don’t generally find with an ebook.

this was the sweetest romcom for my cold, cynical heart to feast on to stay warm in this depressing american winter. Thoughts: I really enjoy Mazey Eddings story telling and the wonderful, life-like characters she creates. This is the third installment in her Brush With Love series and while Lizzie still holds the number one spot, I loved this one and our MCs Indira and Jude, almost as much. I always love the representation Eddings includes in her books, and this was no exception. The PTSD and anxiety Jude copes with, along with the therapy Indira undergoes, were all presented in a very realistic and honest way. In fact, the therapy sessions in which Indira opens up about her history with Jude, were some of my favorite scenes hands down.

As for Dan and Harper, I disliked them both. First it was Dan, then it was Harper, then it was both. What a journey! Like ping pong! Watch out for these balls of fury. Neither felt like they were actually 26-year-old adults. They acted like undergrads in most scenarios, even younger in others. Their decisions were embarrassing at times and I never felt the connection because this was the, and I mean THE, most instant case of insta love I have ever experienced.

If the emotional roller coaster of Indira’s childhood had taught her anything, it was that there wasn’t a problem out there that couldn’t be (at least temporarily) fixed by her mom’s red sauce. This starts off horribly for Indira after she walks in on her live-in boyfriend, Chris, having a bit of a tug and cuddle with a stranger. It's clearly not the first time. At least, she thought they both knew that. It wasn’t like they talked about their relationship. They didn’t talk about much, if she were being honest …
