One of the main reasons I escape into books is to take comfort in strong characters who can kick ass again and again, rising from the ashes no matter what happens to them. This girl gets kidnapped by the killer and ESCAPES only to come back to MURDER THIS MAN because of her PTSD?

The fact that Pip really struggles with recovering from her experiences made her feel that much more real to me.He does his villain monologue and confesses to killing Pip’s dog way back in the first book (mwahahahhahaa! The fact that the author knew that if they just made Pip do it on her own it would make her seem like a monster so they had to throw innocent, lovable, Ravi in the mix to justify her actions. I enjoyed the first half of the book, and I am surprised that my guess for the culprit is on the beam compared to the last two books.

She's become harried, and less strait-laced as one might expect from someone with a history of becoming involved in murder investigations, yet still so identifiable that it seemed like I was on the dark, terrible ride with her. understandable because we’ve also seen her slowly becoming more and more violent/unstable with the graffiti on Max’s house in the second book, her violent fantasies about him, etc. i rlly enjoyed reading abt their friendship and how nat tried her best to look out for her and made sure she was safe.

Not only does she make it look like someone else is the killer, staging false evidence and coming up with an elaborate scheme, but she gets Ravi to help her and also a few of her friends 😕 that is so fucked up. There's no way I should've enjoyed this as much as I did, but to my surprise, this was one of the better B films I've seen in a very long time, especially comparing this to the other MJW film I saw yesterday - The Island 2023, which was atrocious and I rated that one 3/10. We don't get to see MJW all out kick-butt the entire time, but he still delivered on the action and thrills either with fists, kicks or guns. They set the scene they need and then head home to create their alibis, Ravi with his cousin and Pip with her friends and she turns to Nat, Jamie and Connor for it explaining that she can put Max away for good but they can never ask her how and she will never tell them and they surprisingly agree. Ravi is so caring and understanding, he was there for Pippa and continue to do so until the last book. Pip does go and see DI Hawkins like Ravi asked but he says exactly what she was expecting downplaying her fears and tries to attribute them to her PTSD even when Pip herself is so sure now about the stalker before she leaves she makes sure the police now exactly what she thinks of them. Was it some statistics thing, like ‘one out of six serial killer’s victims is more likely to survive than others’?

Took me a while to get into in it nearly went on my DNF list but I'm glad I carried on just if the is the final one the ending isn't great it leave it open for another one. All of the links tying him to the other novels proved just how much thought had gone into everything and I was very impressed. I related to Pip so much as a character, and found the plot line and writing style absolutely phenomenal. Pip I can somewhat rationalize, as we can see how deeply she’s been affected by her previous experiences and how unhinged she has become.Holly Jackson started writing stories from a young age, completing her first (poor) attempt at a novel aged fifteen. go free from a drunk driving incident where they literally ruined someone’s life by making him a paraplegic(? Ellis Frazier certainly had many rookie mistakes in this film, but still managed to assemble an entertaining viewing. As we approach the ¾ mark in the novel, we’ve still got around 200 pages left for Pip and Ravi to get away with murder and put a serial rapist behind bars and I can’t wait to see if they actually pull it off or if Pip is going to prison. on the second part, everything took a turn and i love how well thought out it was and everything on pip’s part.
