It would be amazing if she could have the send-off she deserves without the event becoming a media circus. And what an insight into the family and definitely a good insight to why Amy's daughter is the way she is. I think real people see through the headlines but unfortunately headlines are there to manipulate people. Amy seems like a supportive caring parent and there is no doubt the family all care for one another.But submission is not a word in Amy’s vocabulary and so she refused to capitulate to her greatest challenge. I wanted to read this and as the proceeds are all going to good causes I felt good about reading it. The fact the proceeds of the book are going to charity demonstrates her selfless trait of always considering others before herself. I really enjoyed hearing more about Amy's life, as well as the life of Katie, her brother and sister, and Katie's children and ex partners. I picked this book for another August 'Bookshelf Raiders' read because of the fact I am a mother, and I hold the belief that no one loves or knows you as a mother does.

The people who spread abuse online need to read this and take a good look at themselves and how far they can truly push someone to the brink, which in turn affects the whole family unit. I do sympathise with Kate it’s not easy at all having a disabled child until you love it you can only assume I know this first hand and I’m glad she has a strong mother like Amy she needs that . The Last Word was Number 2 in the Sunday Times Hardback Non-Fiction bestseller list on Sunday 16th July.I've listened to the audio version of this over the last week and I've got to say the narrator is great. I can not even begin to imagine how anyone deals with the fact they know they are going to die and have to prepare for such events.

Amy also contradicts herself on several occasions by blasting beahaviours in Katie's ex's that she previously stated that Katie herself did but later changes the record. I laughed at times, in particular when she was talking about her daughters ex’s as it reminded me of a typical mum.

Kate has been through so much and i can understand to some extent the walls she has put up due to the continued rejection and hurt shes faced, while its no secret she wanted to be famous and chose this life, this book also helps understand why she kept chasing things that didnt serve her. This book is a heartfelt account of a mother's love for her daughter (and both of her other children), and I really hope they all find peace and the future is brighter.

Being a carer for your complex children’s needs is enough to make any upset cause a breakdown as you are always worrying, exhausted and protective at the same time. I hope she one day reads up about these types of people and realises that their behaviour is on them, not her. Also with Amy having a health condition that I may well one day end up with I was interested to see how she is coping. Amy struggles to understand why her daughter does the things she does and tries like any mother would to stand by her daughter even through some of the farcicle marriages she has been through.

I also agree with her comments about Peter Andre - I had the feeling as I was reading the section about him that lawyers had combed through it and probably pulled quite a lot out. This book isn't biased and she really does give some of her family's life choices a good going over. I enjoyed this book a lot, it made me also see katie in a different light aswell, she is an amazing mum to harvey and as a mum to 2 disabled children I actually find her an inspiration.
