We can’t imagine many people being unhappy with the Thrustmaster T300 RS, though, especially as it’s one of the first wheels to offer full PS4 support. Although they’re easy to clamp to coffee tables or hold between your legs, you really aren’t getting your money’s worth if you don’t have a rig to attach it to. The belt-driven wheel includes a pedal set with three metal pedals – a step up from the original T300RS model which made do with two. Fire up a game like Project Cars and the Thrustmaster T150 will decimate the Hori for quality of experience. There’s a little gnawing rumble as you fight against the wheel, which is the feel of the motor working, but it’s otherwise great.

Like it's PS4 counterpart, the G920 is more affordable than Thrustmaster wheels but still boasts great quality. We do still think the T-GT beats its Fanatec rival when playing Gran Turismo Sport, though, because it has additional steering column vibration feedback.It also makes for a quieter system, although the internal fan still kicks in after about 20 minutes of driving. I do agree the quality of TM products is not great, they don't have the best finish and it's based on luck if it fails or not. It’s the first force feedback wheel we’ve used from Hori, and marks the first time in ages we’ve seen a new competitor enter this particular ring. But as long as you don’t look too much into what you’re missing with a replacement wheel, you’ll be very happy. Using belts is fine, but the Thrustmaster T-GT also has a slightly notchy turn feel that we were hoping too see smoothed-out in the upgrade from T300RS to T-GT.

The GT edition, which rocks a Gran Turismo logo on the wheel launched alongside Gran Turismo Sport on PS4 a year later. This is what Hori was aiming for, though – it's a maker of arcade gear, and this is clearly an arcade wheel.It's a big step up from the company's non-force-feedback models, is easy to set up and doesn't cost a fortune. The wheel itself looks pretty similar to the standard T300RS wheel, but features a Gran Turismo logo in the place of the PlayStation one.

When you actually use the wheel the notchiness isn’t glaringly obvious as there are motors working against your every turn, but it does detract from the feel a little.Even with a DualSense controller’s clever haptics, that would just get lost in translation when simply gripping a gamepad.
