They all climbed trees together, scraped their knees on the exact same pavements and, in taking their shared steps towards adulthood, shaped some bonds that would last for a lifetime.

To some extent the plot of Other People’s Husbands is as old as time, where love and lust become confused and destructive, but this story is so imbued with sensitive understanding, with realism and compassion that it feels quite perfect. I believed in the people, the settings and the situations completely so that I found the story very affecting and emotional. Carefully plotted over a year, Other People’s Husbands would make a fantastic television drama series. I became so invested in the lives of the characters in this book. It was also interesting to read a book from the perspective of slightly older parents (whose children were young adults.) There were some really sad parts as well as some amazing uplifting bits. So, when tragedy plays a hand, their friendship is put right to the ultimate test. Can they put each of their differences and troubles aside and remember the simple joys of their younger selves. After all, shouldn’t friends always come first? Rich and riveting . . . A perfect observation of the complexities and pitfalls of long-lasting friendships and their impact on family life' HEIDI SWAIN The children no longer children but now grown up and their parents have now entered the next stage in life and a time when things change. The latest holiday was the start of the change when the now mature Natalie wears a red bikini instead of a sedate one piece, she has the figure for it but everyone has noticed.I really struggled to read this book as there is too much going on. Although the characters were all very different with their own unique struggles and issues it felt like an overload. We are following 6 couples and all their children so it’s hard to feel like the story focused on each one well enough. I would have preferred a book per couple or less couples just because personally it was an information overload. I think that some parts of the book where slow and could have been a tad more face paced.
