Do yourself a favour – binge this one when it becomes available, as I suspect it will have you gripped. It is considered his sixth stand-alone novel, but does contain at least one reference to his Myron Bolitar series.

Each of these titles can be enjoyed as a one-off thriller, rather than part of a series, so you don't have to worry about missing out on things from previous books. There are plenty of characters actually but somehow it's easy to keep track of them because the author makes their lives matter despite their little role in the story. One of the characters (now going under name of Jack), perhaps out of guiltiness and mutual attraction, decides to befriend and get into an intimate relationship with one of the massacre’s biggest survivors: Grace. Walter Presents: Just One Look will have a full linear run from 7th February on More4 with on-demand stacking on Walter Presents via All 4. He is currently filming THE STRANGER, based on his novel, for Netflix starring Richard Armitage, Siobhan Finneran, Jennifer Saunders and Stephen Rea.

I am a big fan of Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar series, and was a little wary of trying one of his standalones, but I'm glad I did. Harlan Coben has made a huge name for himself, both in written fiction and also on screen, as several of his books have been made into films and series. Always a spellbinding story teller, he is up there with other big leaguers like Elmore Leonard and Michael Connelly, and rightly so.

Now, to save her family from a killer who will stop at nothing to get the photo, Grace must confront the dark corners of her own tragic past.

His most recent adaptation for Netflix, Stay Close, premiered on December 31, 2021 and stars Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt, and Richard Armitage. A businessman tries to go on the run from his family home when an old photograph turns up in a new roll of film. An ordinary photograph causes a mother’s world to unravel in this shocking thriller from the bestselling author and creator of the hit Netflix drama Fool Me Once. JUST ONE LOOK: When Grace Lawson picks up a newly developed set of family photographs, there is a picture that doesn't belong—a photo from at least twenty years ago with a man in it who looks strikingly like her husband, Jack.

His writing moves the plot along in a timely manner, and he creates well-developed characters, but this book was a reach for me. In Paris, he was awarded the prestigious Vermeil Medal of Honor for contributions to culture and society by the Mayor of Paris. To put it bluntly, the storylines had so little to the meat of the story that if I cut the storylines out completely and then change the climax of the story just a little bit, it would not have made even the slightest difference to the novel in the grand scheme of things. Among them is Eric Wu, a sadistic assassin, who has a great interest in the old photo and will stop at nothing to keep the secrets it holds buried.
