The Electriq 10l dehumidifier is a solid model, but, unlike the 20L version, we can't recommend it over alternatives such as the Meaco Small Home Dehumidifier. It's easy to use and relatively cheap, but struggles to remove enough water from the air compared to its closest competitors. With a range of domestic dehumidifiers, relatively low prices and some interesting new features (including smart connectivity and antibacterial properties), it's easy to see why consumers are starting to take note of this new company. Let's start with the basics though. It's a refrigerant (compressor) dehumidifier with a built-in humidistat, digital display and a 24 hour timer. Weighing 9.5kg, it's considerably lighter than the 20L version, and also much smaller. The plain white design isn't going to win any awards for innovation, but it's clean and simple to use. While it's unlikely to get near 20 litres per day, it pulls large amounts of water from the air - especially at room temperature or higher. It also has a four litre water tank, so you won't need to empty it as often as other models (although this is smaller than the 6 litre Meaco Low Energy 20L).

With a 10 litre capacity, the Electriq CD10L is clearly designed for smaller homes than the excellent CD20LE. Unfortunately, we don't think it matches the performance of its bigger sibling. Refrigerant dehumidifiers work best when there is a big difference in temperature between the coils and air. This is why they tend to be most effective at room temperature and above, but gradually become worse as the temperature drops. There is nothing worse than your dehumidifier breaking down just after the Manufacturer's warranty has expired. The main problem is that we feel it's overpriced, considering the basic features and 12L extraction rate. It's also relatively noisy and surprisingly heavy.

All costs includes parts, labour, call out and delivery charges, so you can rest assured there are no hidden costs. For smaller units we may ask you to return it to our UK repair centre. This doesn't mean the CD10L has no redeeming qualities. It's just as quiet as the CD20LE, at 42dB, and has a high build quality. It's also relatively energy efficient and lightweight - along with being one of the cheapest Electriq models. The Electriq CD10L performs adequately at room temperature, but ​it can't match the best 10 litre dehumidifiers for water removal. When the temperature drops it really starts to struggle though - even more than the average refrigerant. Our dedicated technical team will take care of your dehumidifier. It's not the most powerful dehumidifier on the market - you wouldn't expect it to be with the low energy consumption. But it can do a decent job at removing water, especially at room temperature or above. The two-speed variable fan gives you greater control and added flexiblity to your indoor ir climate. The low speed setting is ideal for using throughout the day to save energy or even at night thanks to its low noise level, while the high speed setting lets you achieve your desired humidity faster. One complaint we have about this model is the 5 litre water tank. While this is bigger than most tanks, we would have liked a 6 litre tank considering the high maximum extraction rate. It's also not cheap, so there are probably better options if you don't need the "Smart" features.Low Energy - The electriQ 20L Dehumidifier is an energy efficient appliance which runs on only 240W. It has a rotary compressor, and uses up to 40% less energy when compared to standard dehumidifiers available. It's not perfect though. The CD20LE is one of the bulkiest dehumidifiers on the market, weighing a hefty 13.8kg and with a width of 42.5cm. The built-in carry handle and castors make it easier to move around the home, but it's certainly not a portable dehumidifier. It's also not as effective in cooler conditions, so for garages or unheated rooms we recommend a desiccant dehumidifier.
