It’s not normally the duty of the unseelie ruler to deal in human matters of life and finance, but after the death of Father’s executor earlier this year, his estate was turned over to the crown. She especially loves writing books about the fae and other magical creatures.

This book is amazing. It has the sweetest romance that grows so naturally. The two MCs heal each other and move through so much together. It's cozy, funny and heartwarming. A flash of panic rushes through me, but a rebellious fire has my feet rooted to the chimney’s ledge. I will remain. Just a second longer… Ember was another very interesting character. She wasn’t a jumps-into-anything-without-a-thought or a got-herself-into-this-situation character. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with protagonists who’ve gotten themselves into a fix, we’ve seen that so much that we forget that another way exists. She was genuinely written into difficult situations and had to make the best of it. The plot knots that Tessonja wrote her protagonists into were genuinely airtight in terms of difficulty and I was definitely satisfied with how she undid them with time. It was a valiant effort,” I hear him call overhead before he soars over the buildings and out of sight.Ember is half-fae and lives with her step-mother and two stepsisters after a bargain she made, which stated she will have to live and obey them until she turns 19. Being bound by her bargain and forced to act as a maid and do everything her step family wants, her life is anything but easy and all she wants is to escape. But when her stepmother sets her eye on Franco, the Lunar prince, and wants to use the Social Season as a means to marry off her eldest daughter, Imogen, Ember finds herself even more entangled in her stepmother's schemes. Especially when, desperate to elude a forced marriage, she ends up agreeing to a new bargain with Maisie, the youngest princess of the Sea Court, which leads to her parading as Franco's new love interest. But when he discovers she's an impostor and still allows her to play her part, pretense and honesty mingle with a long awaited result: happiness for both of them, whatever that may mean for each.

You brought me along.”I must take some pleasure from your company if I’ll be forced to endure your presence for the foreseeable future.” This novel, along with the rest of the Entangled with Fae series, is set in a world already established in a previous series. You do not need to read that series first, in fact I did not, nor must you read the other books in this series to understand any part of this novel. Each standalone, so far, does give you a sneak peak into a character you will meet in the newest novel and allows you to catch up with characters from the past novel which I enjoyed quite a bit. Favourite characters: Franco, Ember and Nyxia. Franco is my fave out of all due to his vulnerability, and willingness to change and do better. She gives a haughty shrug. “One must be prepared should an invitation to a certain glamoured ball—one hosted by the Raven Prince himself—come their way.”

The first wisp clasps her hands in an innocent gesture. “But you’ll miss the sunrise. It’s nearly at the horizon. Don’t you want to see it?” I know who this is. It’s Prince Franco. While I may not have seen him in person before, I’ve heard both him and his sister described. And not just in physical appearance.

The beginning of this story was a bit agonizing, as most Cinderella retellings are. I wish Ember had had just one friend or one positive relationship so it wouldn't have been so depressing. It also took a bit longer to get to the main plot - the fake relationship - than I would've liked. I brighten at that. “Please do, Flora. In fact, you should take a room at the palace all month. You can even set up shop. You’ll get loads of business, as I plan on making all the dances glamoured occasions. You know everyone wants their next glamour to be even more dazzling than the last.” The very one. I never stood a chance with Evelyn, and it’s obvious why. Have you seen King Aspen’s antlers?” He sighs. “I suppose I had a crush on them both for a time, but Evelyn was someone I think I could have been happy with. I never felt anything close to love for her, but still…I must admit, it was quite embarrassing.”
