Lighting: Lighting doesn't just make your keyboard look cool, it also helps you see the keys you're pressing when you're gaming or typing in the dark. And, lighting can be programmed with LIGHTSYNC RGB to color code your keys to stand out. This is great for games with special key commands. Beyond that, the G915's biggest feather in its cap is wireless connectivity. You can connect the device via a USB dongle (which works flawlessly) or Bluetooth (which also works flawlessly — depending on how well your devices handle Bluetooth connections). Theoretically, this means you could have it hooked up to a PC and a smartphone simultaneously, or whatever other device combination strikes your fancy. Switching between them is as simple as pressing a button, and both connections work from dozens of feet away. To add keys to a zone, select a zone in the Lighting Zones pane and then select a key. You can also use the + button to create additional zones. Size: First and foremost, you should make sure you're buying a keyboard that fits your desk and your hand size, whether it's a full-size keyboard or a TKL.

Naturally, the Logitech G915 TKL boasts Lightsync RGB lighting that looks absolutely stunning thanks to those floating keys and slightly reflective brushed aluminum plate. This RGB lighting is incredibly customizable as well via the Logitech G Hub software, with presets, per-key and per-zone customizations, and a number of lighting animations at your fingertips. Then there's the battery life. Logitech claims that the device will run for up to 12 days of play (8 hours per day) with RGB features turned on or up to 135 days with lighting turned off. It was hard to gauge these numbers for ourselves, since we had less than a week to review the device. However, I drained about 10% of the keyboard's battery after two days of moderate use, so the numbers sound about right. Better still: Recharging it won't throw off your experience, since a keyboard is a stationary device anyway. Performance That’s especially with its 1000Hz polling rate (or 1ms response time) and 1.5 mm actuation distance. There are a few gaming keyboards out there that deliver a much higher polling rate – the Corsair K70 TKL, for example, comes with native 8,000Hz hyper-polling. Meanwhile, the Corsair K65 RGB Mini delivers a speedier 4,000Hz. However, the 1,000Hz is standard for most high-quality keyboards. Both the Roccat Vulcan TKL Pro and the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL, two of our best gaming keyboards, have it. The only thing that could have further rounded out its feature list is a plush, luxurious wrist rest. But then again, this keyboard is so thin Logitech would have had a hard time designing one that will match its thin frame while also lifting your wrists without raising the price even higher.The Pro Gaming Keyboard features onboard memory to store lighting effects. This comes in handy if you need to use a computer that does not have LGS installed. At the time of release, you can only store one Freestyle or Zones layout on the keyboard’s memory. Truthfully, I'm not sure I would dish out quite so much money for a keyboard, particularly since, unlike a mouse, it's a stationary device. Wireless connectivity is a luxury, not something that's going to change your level of performance. Color Wave — select this option to set the colors to change horizontally, vertically or from the center out. Use the slider to set the speed at which the color wave cycles.

Furthermore, the G915 doesn't come with a wrist rest, which is a problem when you're dealing with such a thin, low-to-the-ground keyboard. Even using third-party wrist rests isn't necessarily a solution, since most of them are higher than the keyboard itself. Keys This same software also lets you assign commands, macros, actions, emojis, and a whole bunch of system commands to the keyboard’s 12 function keys, as well as set up to three on-board profiles. So, even though there’s no full key remapping, there’s a lot here to keep your gaming sessions and workflows all the more seamless.Your Effects: Create and manage your own animated lighting effects. However, as a wireless mechanical gaming keyboard, the G915 nails almost every feature perfectly. If you're serious about an uncluttered gaming setup without sacrificing any functionality, this is the peripheral you'll want as a centerpiece.
