One thing I’d change about the Bullet Strat is its nut, which already looks like it’s about to break. The Classic Vibe range of guitars from Squier continues to impress us with its build quality, looks and overall feel. The body of this guitar is made of Pine - something we’ve not seen since Fender’s early days - and its these touches, along with features like the 2-colour burst and Narrow Tall frets, that give the CV ‘50s Strat a killer vintage vibe and style. Lastly, it has another variant compared to the Bullet Start. This is a short-scale guitar (24’’), it has 1’’ length in size than the Start. It’s not a lot shorter so it stills feels like a full-size guitar. Still, that 1’’ difference delivers less tension on the strings so its easier to play chords and bends. Additionally, Bullet guitars are commonly sold alongside starter kits at incredibly low prices. These represent a good choice for parents thinking about buying their child’s first electric guitar.So, in essence, this is the perfect Stratocaster guitar for beginners, and it’s an ideal choice for people and children learning how to play guitar. It’s also great for jamming sessions and small gigs. I also commend this as a good choice to begin your musical journey. The Affinity series of guitars is also the cheapest Squier offering to feature a full-depth, full weight body – and the difference this makes is huge. The tones you'd expect to hear from a Strat or Tele are there in abundance, and especially when paired with some gain, life feels pretty good when playing one. For the money – still well within the 'budget' price range – we're thoroughly impressed. While it has some limitations regarding buzz noises and tone, it’s going to be really difficult to beat the price of this guitar, unless it’s for my personal favorite, the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar (however this guitar still sells for a higher price and its harder to play).

It’s made of “synthetic bone” which is actually a plastic called melamine . You shouldn’t confuse this synthetic bone with the higher-quality Bone or NuBone nuts. It’s really just a basic hard plastic used in making kitchenware, flooring, whiteboards , and obviously guitar nuts. At first glance, the two look almost identical. The design elements are exactly the same. The differences come in the materials and components.The main thing guiding you to buy this guitar could very well be how affordable it is. As you’ve seen, the Squier Bullet Stratocaster gives you a great bargain for its playability, appearance, and sound. The overall build of this Bullet Strat was fine. No loose pieces or rattling bolts or any obvious construction flaws. A few rough or uneven frets, but nothing major. It’s a good question, to be honest. There’s never been a better time to buy a cheap or budget-friendly electric guitar - with many brands and manufacturers producing great products at an alarming rate - so why should you opt for one of the best Squier guitars over anything else? Even many gigging musicians rely on Squier, if they don’t make enough money to afford a Fender. In many cases they can afford one, but they’ve been happy with a Squier all along, so they never make the change.

There are some qualms and questions surrounding the build quality of guitars made in the Far East over those made in the US and Mexico - and while those qualms may have been entirely valid five to ten years ago, nowadays, not so much. We’d argue, in fact, that if you spend Squier money on a guitar made in the US, it wouldn’t be that great - as the cost of labour and manufacturing would bump up the price of a cheap guitar considerably. They're still well-put-together, and the lighter, thinner body feels great to play, particularly if you're in the market for a great beginner electric guitar or a killer guitar for kids– but if you've got some room in the budget and are willing to spend it, then the Affinity series is the place you should look. Overall, the tone is good and the guitar has a surprising amount of features. As for the buzz, you may find ways to handle this issue.
