Turbo lasts just under a minute while high takes almost three and a half minutes to step down, but they both converge at the medium level, and all three modes stay there for almost 5 hours. Really, aside from the short burst at the beginning, this is a ~300 lumen light. It would’ve been nice to see it sustain high for a bit longer than that.

I think this alignment of the switch LEDs is pretty normal… if you’re expecting them to be on… some… other axis, then this might not be the light for you. Okay, we all know Sofirn is an OEM factory making lights under their own brand, and making them for other companies (Wurkkos, and masquerading for Astrolux occasionally). Either way, they’re a popular brand. My first unmodified flashlight was a Sofirn SP10S I bought in early 2020, and this is a good illustration of how Sofirn has become firmly entrenched in the flashlight enthusiast’s repertoire. There is also a USB-A to USB-C charging cable included, which is a good one to use, as the charging port is recessed and in somewhat of a tight space. If the plastic head around the USB-C plug is too wide, it won’t fit.

Not sure whatever else you thought about those square anodized threads above, but the first thing I thought was “hey that’s like a new S2+ threading!” I have only one new S2+, and it’s a copper one. And yes it threads on perfectly. And also YES it works fully! Sort of a bonus is that you now also have a mechanical tailswitch! (You’ll ask so: No it doesn’t really work the other way. Yes, it connects electrically BUT notice that you’ve taken out all the switches. So no good way to modulate the modes.) Super Bright: This LED flashlight is equipped with the SST-40, easily lighting up the path in front of you with significantly improved throw: it delivers a maximum output of 2000lm at a distance of up to 214 meters.

Surprisingly, the bezel is not glued down. Not only that but the threads are lubed. Usually manufacturers don’t want you getting into the bezel, but on the SC32 it’s wide open, meaning emitter swaps will be a breeze. In my review copy of the Sofirn SP35 ATR flashlight is a Luminus SST-40 emitter, in 6500K. This emitter is surrounded by a smooth and quite deep reflector. These beamshots are always with the following settings: f8, ISO100, 0.3s shutter, and manual 5000K exposure. On the other side of the light, the head has some cooling fins cut into it, which are identical to those found on the Wurkkos TS10. That’s where the comparisons end, I promise. In another interesting move, the USB-C charging port is on what I consider to be the front of the light, above the make a model markings. The SC32 has a narrow rubber cover for the port, unlike other Sofirms which have a larger square cover. It fits fairly snugly, but is not too difficult to remove when you need to charge. Next to the charging port is a status light which stays on for 5 seconds when you first turn the light on, displaying in green when charge is good, solid red when it’s low, and flashing red when it’s critical. It also flashes red while charging.Sofirn has made quite a name for themselves, churning out affordable, highly functional flashlights for the masses, and they keep getting better. Sofirn keeps their finger on the pulse of the marketplace and knows what’s hot and what’s not, so if something isn’t stirring the Kool-Aid, they fix it. The SC31T is a perfect example of this. Tactical-style flashlights are hot items, and every big-name manufacturer makes one (or more). I’ve been able to test some of the best on the market, and have a good idea of what makes a tactical light, well, tactical. It’s not possible to measure amps on this light as it requires the body to be disconnected from the head to access the battery.
