Even though every kid wants a superhero power, Charlie isn't keen on turning into a pigeon in the middle of the school play. Although the fact Charlie changes into animals sounds very silly and unrealistic, the way the book is written and how we know this is because he has become anxious it doesn't seem unrealistic at all and it comes across as a very real story and a problem that you could actually have which I guess is all down to the brilliant way the book is written.

When I find those responsible – and I can assure you I will – they’ll be in worse shape than a Henny Penny toilet bowl. Without a doubt, one of the elements that kids love the most about this interactive book is that it includes three pop-ups and a fold-out page.

Since this is a book that parents and teachers should help children read, storytelling is an essential factor when it comes to capturing their attention and enjoying reading while little ones play with its fold-out pages. Endless laughs aside, it's also an incredibly important read, inviting discussion with children about anxiety — something worryingly on the rise among children.And they weren’t impressed by the “letter” at the end by the publishing company apologising for the lack of chickens. Illustrations by Sarah Horne are an absolute delight and I enjoyed this read from the first chapter.
