Probably not when there’s products like Orbit’s travelling sprinkler available, but for small to regular sized gardens it’ll do the trick. If you are looking for something a little more conventional for your rectangular lawn, then you can’t go wrong with the Costwise Pro Oscillating Bar Lawn Sprinkler, and for larger lawns, the Gardena Premium Full or Part Circle Pulse Sprinkler is by far the best in both build quality and performance. In fact, it’s been owned by a member of our team for many years - usual for the Hozelock brand, we’ve found. Whilst its spray distance is supposed to be determined by water pressure, many compliment its ability to work well in spite of low levels.Unfortunately, it doesn’t spin that well with the tap turned right down, and wouldn’t be the best choice for smaller gardens. If your lawn is uneven or it’s windy, it will probably flip over; they also usually have limited spray patterns. As it’s hidden, this lawn sprinkler does require installation – a 10-inch hole will need to be dug along with a trench for the hose. The adjustment to water a full rectangular or partial area is simple, as you only need to slide the red setting rings. I guess, if I was to pick one word to describe the Karcher premium oscillating sprinkler, it’d be customisable.

This means it doesn’t twist, and turnover like some of the plastic alternatives I have used in the past.However, if I had just to review two models, it would be the first two reviewed below, the Costwise Pro Oscillating Bar Lawn Sprinkler and the Gardena premium oscillating sprinkler, as these two really did stand out. The sprinkler includes a fine-mesh steel filter that traps any dirt in the incoming water and renders the unit virtually maintenance-free. The first issue is easily solved with a pin or something similar, but the second means that you have to keep an eye on the sprinkler while it does its job, which isn’t ideal. Hozelock has another great entry on our list with the Round Sprinkler Pro which works incredibly well regardless of your water pressure.
