Re)new and improved- remade with more sustainable materials that have reduced the impact this footwear has on the planet. Personally, I would love to see improvements for the next Primus Trail models as this shoe does have areas where its performance falls short.

Another perk to this shoe is that I think it’s a pretty good intro model for the barefoot enthusiast who is wanting to wear this style of shoe for more hikes and trail runs. Made using a recycled all-weather mesh textile to create high-performance footwear that's at home in colder conditions on untouched terrain. Our finest reconditioned footwear is ‘like new’, showing very few signs of wear and will be ready for a newpair of feet. My first initial feeling in these shoes was that although the shoe is wide as predicted and designed, the upper is quite low and the mesh on the toes quite stiff meaning the toes don’t have a lot of wiggle room upwards.And even though it may add unnecessary ounces, most of the upper is reinforced with panels and cross braces of recycled rubber. However, other users mentioned that it might get too hot during the intense summer heat, though they still enjoy running with them without socks. Grass, soft woodland loam and gravel paths are the natural environment for the Vivobarefoot Primus Trail II FG, and they’re a pleasure to wear in these environments. Considering their molded nature, these shoes are like the vast majority of others in that they will not be repairable. Reviewers state that the shoes are water-resistant and offer proper traction on varying trails and terrains.

The sole is rigid and not as flexible as previous Vivobarefoot shoes I’ve worn, however this is a good feature as the ground feel is still there, but due to rigidness gives great protection and comfort when running on hard, sharp surfaces. After the first few runs, when our sockless test dummy began to get the beginnings of blisters on the tops of his big and little toes (where the upper surface of the shoe creases as the toes flex forwards), he applied some lube and his skin soon became accustomed to the shoes.
