Description

Wash equipment in warm soapy water before it dries, but it's probably more practical to just throw the rollers away. PLEASE NOTE: The pot life of this product is 20 minutes. This means that once parts have been mixed, the paint will start to chemically cure after this time. Ensure you remove the paint from the tin in this window. The paint will then be workable on your floor for up to 40 minutes. Drying Time- Touch dry in 30 minutes, hard dry after 12 hours. Recoatable after 16 hours (minimum) and prior to 10 days (maximum). Mixed pot life: approximately 12-16 hours. For greasy or previously painted floors, clean with floorsaver Cleaner & Degreaser, scraping off any loose paint, dust or dirt. Lightly sand glossy paint to dull down the shine and roughen it up. Before application it is important to make sure that all areas are clean, sound, dry & free from surface contamination. All oils and grease should be removed with a suitable degreasing solution. Any laitance on concrete should be removed by blasting, acid etching or other suitable mechanical methods. Hard smooth power-floated concrete floors should be acid etched or mechanically abraded. Care should be taken on previously painted floors to make sure that the original coatings are sound, as the epoxy will 'tighten-up' during curing, exposing areas of the original floor coating which have poor adhesion - mechanically abrading all areas is recommended to reduce this risk. Separating the mix can be done by either weight or by volume, but make sure you’re using the one consistent with the datasheet. If the floor is still damp as a result of cleaning, it's not a problem since this is a water based epoxy. However, don't put it onto floors where there is rising damp. Give a good stir with something wide, like a wooden batten or a paint stirrer. If you use an electric paint mixer, also scrape around the sides and bottom of the tin to make sure it's all mixed in.

The right choice for garage floors as it'll stand up to hot tyres and resist automotive fluids and chemicals that ruin ordinary paint. Safe and easy to use, virtually solvent free (extremely low VOC) for hygienic areas. I am afraid i would recommend finding a DPM product to apply first. This can be an epoxy damp proof membrane or paintable style coating rather than a traditional DPM system. Provided our water based epoxy coating can be painted on top, this woud still be a very practical solution. Q: I’ve levelled my floor with Arden k301 which I chose because it is suitable for overpainting with resin paint. However, any water rising from the surface below could cuase the paint to be pushed from the surface. Although it is a hard wearing epoxy product and it is likely, with a textured surface to achieve a strong bond, the rising water could still be a problem as this causes pressure below the coating.

This product should NOT be split. Taking smaller quantities from each tin, even if measured correctly, may cause issues with activating. All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. Concrete - power floated, granolithic and smooth surfaces should be roughened first to provide a good "key" for the paint. This can be done mechanically by abrading or blasting, or chemically using Coo-Var Acid Etch. These processes will have the advantage in addition to preparing the surface of also removing dirt and laitance. This product is NOT UV stable therefore can discolour when exposed to regular sunlight. For areas with plenty of repeated sunlight, please coat with a coloured UVR coating such as Resincoat Chemical Resistant UVR Floor Coating for a UV stable finish.New concrete should be at least 2 months old and always washed with floorsaver Floor Etcher to reduce alkalinity and to remove any weak, loose cement deposits. New concrete must be allowed to cure thoroughly which can take up to 3 months. Other surfaces have to be prepared and primed with the suitable primer for that substrate. Existing painted surfaces - Surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced. Remove all loose and flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate and prepare accordingly.
