Also in my settings file, I prefer to set my Fn button to Select Image Area so I can crop as I shoot. If you see some weird flare in your image files when you have a very bright light along the top edge of the frame, Nikon has a D750 shutter recall to take care of it. The D750 shutter is "tested to 150,000 cycles," which I believe is more than was the top-of-the-line F5.

The camera menu system very much resembles other Nikon DSLRs like D610 and D7100, but there are some great features worth talking about. One major advantage of the D610/D7100/D750 cameras over all the higher-end Nikon DSLRs is a working user preset system. Unlike the dual Shooting Menu and Custom Settings Banks system that doesn’t work (I leave those blank on my D800E and D810), Nikon uses a much better user preset system on the D750. You have two programmable presets on the camera: U1 and U2 (accessible from the camera dial), which work perfectly for customizing the cameras for different needs. I set up my D750 for two presets – Landscape (U1) and Portraits (U2).

As you can see, the Nikon D750 keeps up with its contemporaries. The main difference is that the Nikon D750 gracefully quits the race at ISO12800 whilst the other two continue the race to image quality hell. Dynamic Range

I don’t really do video. But I’ve read the Nikon D750 does have all that it needs to be a quite good camera for shooting video. When shooting video you can only use the contrast detection AF and as I’ve explained that is slow. And the hunting for focus looks annoying on a big screen. So if you are looking for a DSLR or mirrorless camera to shoot video with and use AF just forget about the D750 and buy a Sony A7-series (or Canon something). They will be much better. For shooting the occasional video the D750 will do a nice job and if you never use AF in your videos it will also be very good. Files look great, with nice colours and noise levels are low even when shooting at high ISO’s. The Quiet mode (set on the top left dial) isn't quiet. It's as loud as the normal S mode, except that it disconnects the shutter cycle so the shutter doesn't recharge until you lift your finger from the shutter. In Q mode, it's about as noisy as the S mode as you press the shutter, and then there's a second softer sound as you lift your finger a moment later. All in all the Nikon D750 is about 1/3 stop behind my Nikon Df, but it is a good full stop better than the Sony A7 I used to have. When comparing that to APS-C cameras the Nikon D750 is about 1 to maybe 1,5 stops better than a Sony A6000. In practice that means that on a A6000 my normal maximum ISO was ISO3200 with ISO 6400 for extreme situations. On the Nikon D750 ISO 6400 is my normal max, and ISO 12800 is acceptable for extreme lowlight shooting. Dynamic Range The AF systems of the D600 and D610 are blind in the dark. They often will just hang up and not focus in very dim light.

Rated 55 minutes of HD video with EN-EL15 (only 20 minutes with six alkaline AA cells in grip). Measured at 23 °C/73.4 °F (±3 °C/5.4 °F) with the camera at default settings and an AF-S NIKKOR 24–85mm f/3.5–4.5G ED VR lens under conditions specified by the Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA). Individual movies can be up to 20 minutes (1080/60p) in length or 4 GB in size; recording may end before these limits are reached if the camera temperature rises. Focus points are grouped together in the centre of the image like they are on all full frame cameras. When you upgrade from a high-end APS-C sensor camera that may be a little disappointing. In practice the spread of the focus points is a little smaller than on the D800/D810 but covers enough of the frame for most situations. I haven’t had any trouble with it. Bonus is that all the focus points seem to be just as accurate as the centre ones. On other Nikons like the D800 that was a real problem sometimes.

The D750 is for shooters who want a full frame DSLR with superior speed and autofocus, or with a with a flippy LCD screen, for much less money than the D810. In terms of overall portability, the D780 weighs 840g with battery and memory card, while its dimensions measure 143.5x115.5x76mm. In comparison the D750 is an identical 840g with the same lens-less set up. Its own dimensions differ slightly, however, in measuring a marginally more compact 140.5x113x78mm. In truth though, there is a barely a millimeter or two between the two DSLRs, size wise. Nikon D780 vs D750: Other features Weight - The Nikon D780 weighs 840g with battery and memory card installed. The D780 weighs 755g body only, compared to 750g body only for the D750.

The Canons are more comfortable in my hands. The Nikons are pointier while the Canons are more rounded everywhere. Your lenses fit one camera or the other. See Canon vs. Nikon, but the only time you ought to ask yourself this question is if you're starting from scratch with no full-frame lenses. Rated 1,230 single shots with the EN-EL15, measured at 23°C/73°F with an AF-S NIKKOR 24–85mm f/3.5–4.5G ED VR lens cycled from infinity to minimum range and one photograph taken at default settings once every 30s; flash fired once every other shot. Live view not used. On the D750 we get various effects modes, including the ability to combine two shots to achieve High Dynamic Range imagery. Time lapse functions, two card slots (SDXC and UHS-I compatible) plus built in Wi-Fi for connecting to your other smart devices (as likewise offered by the D780) further the D750’s overall usability. It may not offer the 4K video of the newer D780 or its revamped image processing engine, but the D750 is hardly featherweight in terms of its own overall feature set; there is a reason for its longevity after all. Incidentally, the D780 also offers dual card slots, both accepting the swift UHS-II SD cards. When the Nikon D750 was introduced it was a very good camera for a good price, and now in 2022 that is still very much true. Yes, there are newer cameras that have surpassed the Nikon D750 in some ways, but that doesn’t mean the D750 isn’t a good camera anymore. The D750 is a fast, well built, easy to use camera that delivers great results. It offers high image quality from its very good 24 megapixel sensor. Don’t be fooled in thinking you need at least 40 megapixel in 2023. 24 is more than enough for almost any application. And with good high ISO performance and very decent dynamic range the D750 will not get in your way of making the best photos.
