You can find chunjang at Korean markets, usually next to doenjang (된장, fermented soybean paste). Depending on the brands, some are saltier, sourer, and/or sweeter than others. Natural Samyang Inc. stably supplies a variety of agro-fishery products including the ingredients for ramen soup base such as scallions, garlic, sesame, red pepper and seafood. Samyang Farm Inc. provides fresh beef and milk from a vast Farm at an altitude of 850m to 1,400m around Daegwallyeong in Gangwon-do. Pork belly:or substitute with ground pork or beef. I recommend pork belly for this recipe because it offers more texture to the dish. This is a simple delicious noodle dish you can make at home in 30 minutes or less in one pan! The cooking process is simple and doesn't require too many steps. Ingredients

Typically, jajangmyeon includes lots of vegetables such as onion, green cabbage, zucchini, and potato. Onion and cabbage, especially, give the jajang sauce a delicious sweetness. I didn’t use potatoes in this recipe, but you can if you want. Carrots and green peas are also good options.

Based on this source from 2017, there are 23 Samyang products which have been certified by KMF, though we note that this number may have changed since then, especially taking into account limited-edition flavours that come and go. We've compiled a list based on what we've found in supermarkets locally and also online (listed out below!). Do note that even though specific products may have halal versions, not all of the noodles produced for that product line may be halal-certified (as only those produced in designated production lines of their Wonju factory are certified). Serve the jajang sauce over cooked rice, a welcome change from the usual dish with noodles. In this case, the dish is called jajangbap (짜장밥). Green cabbage:I recommend green cabbage as it doesn't release too much water into the sauce over other types of cabbage.

Labels

I do not recommend using napa cabbage. Use the regular green cabbage. Napa cabbage releases more water and a specific taste that alters the taste of the sauce. Is it vegan? It's usually located in the sauce aisle where you find gochujang, doenjang (soybean paste) or ssamjang. Oyster sauce:or substitute with vegetarian stir fry sauce. This seasons the sauce and gives it more depth in flavor.
