There’s no doubt this Power supply 4 by Joyo is a clone of the Voodoo Labs PS. However, there seems to be quite a lot of confusion surrounding whether or not this Joyo is in face truly isolated. The Voodoo Labs power supply most certainly provides truly isolated outputs. And whilst this power Supply 4 claims to have isolated outputs. The consensus that I have heard is that this is not true isolation. However, this is not confirmed. If you’re wondering if this is still a good power supply, I would 100% say YES it is. Despite apparently not being truly isolated, I’ve yet to experience unbearable noise. So, for the price in compassion tot eh Voodoo labs it is hard to go wrong. If you’re the type of person obsessed with their power supply (no disrespect, I totally understand), then this is probably not the choice for as it might be worth forking out the extra for the Voodoo Labs. Joyo Power Supply 2 Clone Of Nothing JRR Pedals OD1.3 Distortion Pedal Great Fulltone OCD copy with a twist: the Low/High peal control is on a footswitch so you can easily toggle between both voicings. I like this better than the original OCD for that reason alone. It features the standard Volume, Gain and Tone controls you’d expect from a drive pedal. But it adds a Voice control knob used to tweak the gain limit and bass response. Budget Dumble? The Overdrive Special is a tube amp with Clean and Overdrive channels. The latter “cascades” from the clean channel, adding a tube saturation circuit that causes the signal to become overdriven. Some models are combos, i.e. amp head with cabinet, while other are just amps with no cabinet. While the Supreme version of the Vertex SRV closely recreates the controls of the original amp with an added EQ footswitch, this “mini” version (which is not really enclosed in a mini case but a compact one), sacrifices the EQ section and two out of three switches, delivering a more essential, no-frills Steel String-inspired overdrive – at a more affordable price.

I recently was after a cheap analog delay, and I came across a Horse NASCAR, which clearly looked like it took inspiration from the Joyo NASCAR. I can't find a single review or mention of these on any forums. I took the plunge on the Nascar delay. It sounds especially good with the clarity and top-end of single-coils. With the Volume and Drive controls dimmed, it gets really fat, compressed and fuzzed-out. A D-Style variation inspired by a mod found on some Dumble Overdrive Special amps including an extra EQ circuit, impersonated here by the “Fat” knob – the other three knobs are your regular Level, Gain and Treble. That variation was dubbed “Hot Rubber Monkey” – hence the pedal’s name. Just by looking and hearing the effects from the 10 and 30 series, we can see Joyo make some of the best Chinese clone pedals. However, as I mentioned at the start of this list, there are essentially three series or ranges of pedals by Joyo. I’ve covered the 10 series clones as well as the 30 series clones already. But, did you know there is another series of pedals by Joyo called the Ironman series? The switch selects between Boost and Overdrive. The Boost is a clean boost with just a tiny bit of grit to make notes sustain, while the Drive setting smooths out the sound and adds compression and sustain with the increased gain.The big brother to the Big Bloom, the Double Bloom is two Big Blooms combined, allowing you to dial in two very different sounds. Amplified Nation also offers a mod for the Double Bloom that allows you to select the channels independently or toggle them. The pedal is also offered in Tolex, painted or suede enclosures. Very cool.

For that reason, I’ll take a look at which pedals the Ironman series are clones, copies, originals or draw inspiration from other pedals. The major feature of this series is the pedals small size as well as the knob covers. The small size of these pedals makes them a fantastic addition to an already clustered or cramped pedalboard. Initially, I was reluctant to add the Joyo Iron man pedals to this list of clones by Joyo. The reason I was hesitant is due to the fact that many of the pedals in the Ironman series are either smaller versions of pedals from the 10 & 30 series. Whilst many other Joyo Ironman pedals are their own thing and not copies or clones. However, there are indeed pedals in the Ironman series that are clones. Or, have drawn inspiration from original pedals. I must note that there is no official confirmation that these are the exact clones/copies. Some of them are quite obviously clones, whilst others aren’t as obvious. Joyo Ironman Series Of MiniClones And Originals Based on the Dumble Overdrive Special, the Dumbledore sports two channels of solid tone. The channels share an active three-band EQ, and while there’s a gain control for each, they share a common output volume, so you can’t really have any volume difference between the channels. There are also internal controls for Tone and Presence. The toggle switch lets you select between different midrange frequencies for the Middle control. Options include 500Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. A top-mounted Dynamic switch increases the pedal’s headroom, driving it at 18 volts. I don't have much experience with analog delays, but this one has some unpleasant high pitched overtones to the delay. The Golden Acorn has one of the smallest footprints of any pedal here, and sports just three knobs. Ratio sets the amount of compression/overdrive and essentially acts as a gain control. Bright adjusts the frequency content, and Volume sets your output level. The drive produced by the pedal is smooth and articulate and serves as a convincing Dumble sound. There’s a lot of mojo in the Ratio knob, as it sits somewhere between a control for the amount of gain and a dirty compressor.The reason I did so is that there are quite a number of these pedals that are actually clones. However, to be fair, there are also a decent amount of Joyo ironman pedals that are originals and not copies or clones. But you can see for yourself when you get to that part. Advantages Of Joyo Pedals: The Plush Valve Job features a real tube, which adds articulation and a more amp-like response, but it requires that the unit run on AC power. The pedal features a hardwire bypass, which means the input is directly connected to the output in bypass, circumventing the circuit. There’s an output buffer for driving long cable runs. The most affordable Dumble-style pedal out there, the NUX Steel Singer is an analog overdrive that recreates the tone of Dumble Steel String Singer amps from the ’70s at a tiny fraction of the cost. Great for lighter stuff like blues and country, this is one of the lowest-gain offerings in the Dumble-in-a-box world. The pedal has also been discontinued, and fetching one on the used market can be as dodgy as it is pricey.
