I'll admit it's frustrating to have your stuff go missing, and inconvenient to have your bed move into the middle of the room every night while you're asleep.

This engaging book tells the true story of The Perron family whom the recent cinematic release "The Conjuring" is based apoun. As others have said, she really, really needed a good editor to go through this, but if you can overlook all those bits, the underlying story is really good. This makes me wonder if perhaps one of the ghosts had been suffocated and was trying to reproduce their own death.The author mentioned in an interview that she was looking for a publisher who wasn't going to edit it. Leaning back into his perpetual pose, watching, no doubt wondering about a sudden changing of the guard, he too would soon become a familiar part of the new landscape. This book was all over the place and now I feel like I need to read a gossipy young adult novel to cleanse my literary palate.

Now is the time to tell the whole truth about what happened in a house alive with death as we lived an illuminating decade of life. Now, with footage and reenactments to support her stories, Perron delves into the haunting tales of her upbringing. This book was FULL of repetitiveness, the same tales told from different view points, the same phrases used again and again, like Andrea forget she had already written about a ghostly encounter so she just threw it in somewhere else to make sure. This was a really well written book and a great story on top of that, I admit some things did frighten me to the core but that's what made the book so great !

Would love your recommendations on such books which deal with real life spirit experiences and extra terrestrial encounters. Very well written by Andrea and I really enjoyed the follow up from different family members years after the events. During those final desperate moments of her life, was she frightened by her own intentions or steadfast in her resolve?

The chapter headings were weird, the writing style was off putting and there were quotes and poems all over the place that I GUESS were supposed to link up with the story but just felt added on in random. Roger and Carolyn Perron purchased the home of their dreams and eventual nightmares in December of 1970. It took some time for the seven mortals involved, decades to realize, ultimately, they were glad to meet them.It seemed the idyllic setting in which to raise a family and the couple unwittingly moved their five young daughters into the ancient and mysterious farmhouse. One floated one of the girls safely down the stairs when she'd fallen, didn't touch treads or walls all the way down and even around a corner. Another part that I so disliked was in various parts of the book the author would type in "Boo" who goes there or Boo, who's knocking on the door now, or Boo, who just picked up the phone. It is the kind of writing that uses at least four paragraphs to say something that could have been said in one or two sentences.
