My journey into digital art took an exciting turn when I started using the GAOMON S620 Graphics Tablet, and a significant part of that excitement was due to its remarkable pen. Let me walk you through its standout features. Overall you are getting a strong and sturdy tablet with an excellent build quality, which can easily handle day to day usage. Size and Active Drawing area You might need to install these libraries, but usually these are already installed on your computer Lastly, the ±60 Degree tilt support enhances the drawing experience. It recognized the angle at which I held the pen, allowing me to create different shades and strokes effortlessly. Out of dozens of budget drawing tablets that we have tested so far, the Gaomon S620 is one of the better options. Before writing this review we used this tablet for around three weeks, and in these three weeks, we had no issues whatsoever.

You can reconnect your tablet to the Windows device to see whether the tablet can open and work normally when being connected to a Windows PC. I currently use a Wacom Intuos Pro that I have been using for several years and I am basing my opinions in comparison of the GAOMON S620 to my Wacom Intuos Pro. So, with that in mind, I thought the GAOMON stylus pen had a decent weight to it and didn’t feel too light like some stylus pens I’ve used before. The pen also has a nice grip to it and although it has a smooth finish, the pen doesn’t feel slippery. I could use the pen for long periods of time without any feeling of it sliding from my fingers. I felt that there was really no noticeable difference between the GAOMON pen and my Wacom pen in weight, performance, or comfort. The S620 graphics tablet was responsive and the buttons on the pen worked without any problems. In comparison to my Wacom pen, the GAOMON pen performed the same. The only major difference I can tell is that my Wacom pen has a more flared barrel at the middle and an eraser feature on the end of the pen. The GAOMON pen doesn’t have an eraser on its end. The Pen Resolution stands at 5080LPI, making my lines sharper and transitions smoother. Coupled with a Report Rate of 266PPS, the pen’s responsiveness is top-notch. I experienced no lag whatsoever, which often breaks the flow for artists.The Digital Pen AP32 was the first thing that caught my attention. Lightweight yet sturdy, it felt like an extension of my hand rather than a separate tool. The pen was very accurate, even for tiny details. Also, no battery requirements for this pen meant I didn’t have to pause in between inspirations to charge it.

Being an EMR stylus, the S620 stylus pen doesn't need a battery, which is the main advantage of a capacitive stylus. The S620 stylus pen gets its power from the tablet while drawing. This is very convenient because you don't have to remember to recharge it and, you don't have to worry about the stylus running out of battery half way through a long drawing session. Stylus pens that are battery powered are usually bluetooth ones like the Apple Pencil and Microsoft Surface Pen. Drawing on a plastic surface with a stylus that has a plastic pen tip, you can imagine you won’t get the same satisfying feeling that you get while drawing on a paper. As for the artists out there, from fledgling doodlers to seasoned professionals specializing in drawing, graphic design, photo editing, or even 2D/3D animation, the S620 is a trusty companion. It’s not just about the tablet’s hardware but also how it interacts with art software. I’ve tried and tested it with a slew of programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Painter, Sai2, Krita, Medibang Paint, and many more. Each time, the experience was smooth and intuitive. The Gaomon S620 has no loose parts and makes no creaking sound, to top it all off – the tablet has almost no flexing even after applying some force on the the surface.In Android mode, only the left third portion of the tablet is active, which measures about 101 x 63.1 mm (10.1 x 6.31 cm). The tablet is thin and sturdy and doesn’t feel flimsy at all. Its dimensions are 8.3 in. x 6.9 in. x 0.31 in. (211mm × 174mm × 8mm). The GAOMON S620 plugs into your computer with the Micro-USB cable which supplies power to the tablet. This S620 needs the Micro-USB cable for power and connection since the tablet doesn’t have Bluetooth capability, which is a shame because I think it would have been handy to use this graphics tablet wirelessly. Over a period of a few months of continuous usage, the nibs of the stylus starts getting worn off. For that, the Gaomon S620 comes with eight extra Pen nibs. A nib remover tool is also included in the box to make it easier to change the nibs. Shortcut buttons In case you are using the Gaomon S620 with Android devices, you don’t need to install the driver. Can Gaomon S620 be used for playing OSU?

Using the S620 tablet on my Samsung Note 10+ phone was interesting. I was able to use the pen as a mouse to navigate through my phone fairly easily. My Samsung has an included S-Pen stylus but its super thin as compared to the pen of the S620, which is larger and feels more comfortable to use.

What I’d change

Starting with the OS support, it’s commendable how the tablet isn’t just restricted to one operating system. Whether you’re a Windows user, a macOS user, or frequently on Android devices, the S620 has got you covered. Specifically, it supports Windows 7, macOS 10.12, and Android 6.0 or above. This vast compatibility ensures that irrespective of the device I’m using, I can comfortably switch without compromising on my work. The Gaomon driver also allows you to create an application-specific shortcut. By that we mean you can have different shortcuts for photoshop and Krita. And the tablet automatically switches the shortcuts depending on the application you are using. Connecting the tablet to the computer The GMS01 tablet stand can also be flattened, which is useful for horizontal use. When flattened, the stand measures 1.5cm high, 28cm long and 18.5cm wide, which is perfect size for transportation inside a laptop sleeve. The stand also has two large vertical rubber strips, as well as a rubberized cradle ledge to hold the tablet in place when tilting up the stand. The plastic ledge measures 22cm long and 1.5cm deep and retracts flat neatly into the tablet, although it isn't magnetic so, it pops open when holding the stand upside down.

This may be caused by the fact that you have both the branded tablet driver and the opentabletdriver installed. You may need to remove the opentablet driver and the other tablet drivers and then reinstall the OTD driver. For those who are wondering – the length of the included cable is 160 cms (5.2 feet). Gaomon Driver – tablet and pen settingsNext, there was the Micro USB Cable. The cable is very durable and long enough. The connection it provided between the tablet and my devices was consistently stable, with no frustrating disconnections. The S620 has a Points Per Second (PPS), also known as Reports Per Second (RPS), of 266 PPS. Basically, this is the speed of information per second between the graphics tablet and the computer. So, technically, the higher the PPS speed the less lag there is. I think the average PPS is around 200 and with this graphics tablet having 266 there was very little lag that I noticed. The pen has 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, which is the same as what you get with top of the line stylus in the market.
