Holy shit.... loved it. Totally out of "left field". Home is a book that I whizzed through in twenty-four hours flat. This is perhaps an indication of Coben’s ability to write quality contemporary thrillers. I found this novel compelling from the very start and the suspense was maintained throughout the whole novel. The story didn’t seem to lag at any point, with the pace steadily maintained by Coben for the length of the novel.

I think I should leave Coben's works for a while after this. Frankly, this book was thrilling when there were just two chapters left for me, and it ended in a short time. The plot just seemed overly convoluted – all at the expense of character depth. (Not that I mind convoluted plots in thrillers. There was a lot going on in Jo Nesbo's The Snowman, but I remember it and the characters a lot more vividly, even though I read it a year ago.)

How can David prove to everyone that son is still alive? Surely this is proof positive! Who will listen? Equally important, who on the outside will help him? I particularly liked the way it weaves together multiple threads of the story, from Paul's personal demons to the broader investigation into the murders. Coben does a great job of balancing these different elements, and the result is a complex and layered story that is both emotionally resonant and intellectually satisfying. This book was probably the best book I've ever read in my entire life. Seriously, I've read some awesome books.. Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter, That Night by Chevy Stevens, Dark Places by Gillian Flynn... but this my friends takes the cake. This book seriously had me hanging on every damn word the entire time. We always seem to be on the eve of destruction. And we always seem to get through it. Maybe we all survive the destruction we have wrought.”The story has similarities with one of my favorite Korean series “ Defendant” and the famous TV show/ Harrison Ford’s remake movie “Fugitive “! It hooks you up from the beginning! It captivates your heart, your soul, your mind at the same time. You cannot stop finishing. The pressure escalates at each chapter. Overall: I read Coben’s books for 20 years and as long as I live and as long as he writes, I plan to read and get more thrilled in near future! I even named my dog: “Articulate “! Is this book a little out there in terms of what David gets away with - yes. Did I care - no! I couldn't get enough of the crazy and intense story.
