I Played music, and cranked up a blender just behind me in the background to see how much of this noise was picked up by the speakerphones when talking. If all you need is a small and relatively affordable speakerphone for the home office, you could do worse. This model is similar to the 40, except it has six built in microphones versus 3, has a mic pickup range of 10 ft, has AC power mode, and has two smartphone chargers.Though a cell and molecular biologist by training, I have been drawn towards computers from a very young age ever since I got my first PC in 1998.

That’s not realistic because in typical office environments, you have many different types of obstructions such as glass walls, sheetrock walls, concrete and steel walls, partitions, desks, people, elevators and the list goes on. It's not a smart speakerphone that will rock your pad, but its overall audio prowess is several times higher than your average laptop or smartphone speakers. But everyone has their own way that they like to work and sometimes it’s necessary to have the freedom to get up and move around in the home office and not wear a headset all day. The Sync 20 was able to pick up our voice perfectly well from further away than the two meters cited in the documentation and there was no discernible echo.The Poly Sync 20+ retails for ₹23,990 MSRP in India, which does seem to be a tad bit on the higher side.

All this means the device is aimed at a rather limited pool of potential users, filling a small gap in the market somewhere between a consumer-facing wireless speaker, a business headset and a regular computer speaker system. The carry case that comes bundled with the speakerphone is nice, but we’re struggling to imagine a scenario whereby we’d want to take the Sync 20 out and about. Though both of these speakerphones look professional, I have to say that the Poly Sync 20 has a more refined look. However, we encountered a few unwelcome quirks when testing the speakerphone across multiple video conferencing and collaboration services. The microphone can easily pickup voices while walking from one corner of the room to the other without having to shout your lungs out.And with upgraded access to premium software, elevating your collaborative experience couldn’t be easier. On the front panel, the touch buttons (one of which is programmable) are legible and positioned in such a way that you’re unlikely to make accidental mis-selections.
