That’s pretty much all the negatives summed up in a couple of bullet points! And just wait until you hear about the positives. Oh boy…. Vamvo Pro Mini portable projector can be uses anywhere thanks to its low power requirements! Just connect the included micro USB lead to a power bank, laptop, PC or wall charger. Ability to connect to your phone wirelessly and project the phone screen itself (casting) – this effectively allows you to watch content without plugging in. The picture quality from the LG is very good, allowing screen sizes up to a max of around 100 inches before you start seeing unacceptable pixels. The brightness is rated at 250 lumens, and we measured close to this in our garden setup as shown below. This image was taken simply projected onto a white sheet, which shows the flexibility you can take advantage of while camping. Performance: The visuals on screen are the most important thing to look at of course, but it delivers here too, at up to 200 inches of great picture in good conditions. The LEDs are suitably bright without too much heat, so this is a projector that can come out at dusk rather than once night has fully set in. This being a cheaper projector, you're going to run into a fairly low contrast picture with darker scenes leaving details to the imagination. For everyday play and streaming, though, it's still a reasonable picture considering the price point.

It's laser focused on those gaming features, potentially at the expense of other quality of life assets, but it's still the best model out there for thumb twitchers. With a name more like a machine gun than a very competent projector retailing at a STUNNING price, the QKK AK-81 is the real deal!

Auto focusing is a great feature on the more expensive models – cheaper projectors need to be focused manually via an adjustment wheel Design: The TH671ST takes a different approach to its design compared to other BenQ models on this list. The curved all-white device is significantly smaller, and comes without the orange flourish of more expensive models. Everything feels solid and secure, though, which is excellent news considering this is a projector you can take on the go.

One thing to consider as you shop for a projector is mobile connectivity. Some projectors connect up to your favorite smartphone or tablet to let you access your files or stream from your favorite apps. It’s important to look at compatibility if you’re choosing a projector to work with your existing mobile device, especially if you don’t have iOS or Android operating systems.

The 300 lumen projected picture is magnificent however. To our eyes this ranks up with the best TVs in terms of picture quality – no evidence of pixelation even up to a display size of 100 inches – this is true 1080p! As mentioned before, the Yaufey contains a rechargeable lithium battery (19 Wh) which means you can power up and watch a programme or film without mains power. This is true portability. The battery can be charged either by DC power or a USB power bank (not supplied) and lasts around 2 hours – enough for most films. You can sacrifice resolution for speed: If you'd prefer a lower input lag, you can find 1080p projectors like the BenQ above offering faster response times.
