The inspiration for this liqueur’s creation came after one winter’s night when John and two colleagues were snow bound at a remote distillery with the only sustenance they could find being ginger cake and mandarin oranges which they chased with a dram or two of whisky. On the palate it is light and balanced with bursting flavours of spice, barley, caramel and a touch of smoke.

And if whisky fans would like a history lesson on The Famous Grouse, the Glenturret Distillery where The Famous Grouse experience was founded, offers a tour which is considered to be as much as a whisky tour as a museum visit, rich with history. The brand passed from the Gloag family to Highland Distillers in 1970, and is now owned by Edrington. This intricately blended Scotch whisky is aged in handcrafted oak casks, imparting a well-rounded, memorable flavour.
