This book does contain some very sensitive subjects and lots of sexual themes so approach with caution! Remember when I said that this book almost squeezed a tear out of me? Well it was because of that ending.

I also found the story in general made me feel uneasy if not at times uncomfortable which is exactly what a great physiological thriller should do! This is a fast-paced story with two very compelling and equally scary narrators. There were some twists I was expecting and some twists I wasn't, which kept guessing fun. I had to suspend my disbelief a lot, though. I don't think this is intended to be super realistic. Think of those Point Horror thriller novels from the 90s, and you'll have an idea of the tone of this book. Even the title is reminiscent of those early Scholastic pulps. It just needs to be written in dripping red letters! It turns into a game of cat and mouse or more like python and a mouse (if you read the book, you'll get this). All in all, without more spoilers, it is one of the great books to read about obsessions and delusions. None of the parties is 100% innocent but one is slightly better than other and you hope that it wins. First of all I would like to put my hand on my heart and say a very big thank you to Avon for sending me Obsessions to review. Reading about marriage/thrillers is my speciality, I just reading about what goes on behind a marriage. For me, Amanda Robson’s books are very close to the definition of “guilty pleasure”. They can be over the top, bonkers, and sinfully delicious. I decided that now was a good time to minimize my TBR pile by a notch or two, and grabbed her debut novel.this is a really interesting story. a little simple, but great for fans looking to fill that 'you' void.

Some people, such as Clementine Ford, have responded by openly naming and shaming offenders and calling them out publicly for their behaviour, but does the potential downside of this outweigh the benefits? Erin Molan campaigned for legislative change regarding online bullying and trolling. Others such as Ginger Gorman, Bri Lee, Jess Hill, Grace Tame and Stephanie Wood exposed ‘dark secrets with searing honesty by examining all perspectives’, a commitment which Madigan found ‘profoundly important’. This is a very well written debut novel. The main characters are developed slowly, with each chapter we learn a little more about them. There is some twists and turns to keep your interest. The plot line is gripping and it covers mental health, relationships and deceit. There is also a lot of sex in the book that might offend some people.

Repetitive. Honestly there’s only so many times I can read about Jenni’s ‘honey brown eyes’ or Carly’s ‘voluptuous breasts’. There were moments in this book where the intimate moments in between characters made me want to cry for help and someone to pass a scoop of common sense. Please, someone send a good few moments of mental clarity! But life isn’t pretty… we take what we want. I don’t think it’s wrong for an author to write outside his or her experience. I just want to see it done with care, as to not hurt the society it influences or the people who’ve survived it.

He just puts his lips on the heroine out of the blue. No chemistry. No anticipation. No passion. The dialogue continues as if the kiss didn't happen. It was fitting, doesn't mean it was fair. I'm serious, that boy could've been helped and it broke my heart that he ended up being obsessed with the one girl who would rather frame & kill him. She seriously not only murdered him but completely tarnished his memory as well. I mean yes he is crazy, but like.....it's not like he had bad intentions🙄 Nicole uses her own story as an entry point to examine the psychology behind stalking behaviours and their impact on victim-survivors. Nicole Madigan is a victim-survivor, and this is a recount of the suffering and torment she endured at the hands of a bitter and twisted person. Craig and Jenni move to Cornwall to have a fresh start at their marriage, but Craig falls in love with another woman. My blood ran cold in parts as I read Madigan's book... It was equal parts thrilling and chilling to read. I couldn't believe that this Karissa villian was so unrelenting in her taunting and ridicule of the author and her partner.

So addictive I've finished it in less than a day as I just needed to know what happened next. I was on edge throughout. Frat parties are basically a cesspool of horny guys drunk on privilege and booze trying to get girls dead-drunk so they can take advantage of them. I mean, sure, that’s a stereotype, and I’m sure some frat parties are nice and some frat guys respect women or whatever, but this guy is asking a high school girl to come on her own to a place where she’ll be completely surrounded by his friends. I don’t think you should go. Not without a shitload of pepper spray and a couple of Tasers.” I read the first part and basically skim read the rest of the way through. What a mess. I am not sure if this belongs in Christian fiction genre or what. There were religious references in every chapter, and that is just not my thing...weird moral placements all over the place.
