Description

TSW: Started on 3 October 1988 and finished on 10 February 1989. Mondays to Fridays at 5:15 pm and Saturdays at 5:05 pm. For the 1980 version, the contestant would play the Gold Run from a section of Bill Cullen's podium, which would rotate outwards and to the right (or left from Bill's point of view), with a smaller microphone for this purpose. The 1987 set, meanwhile, instead had a gold-colored railing/handhold flip up from the floor for the contestant to stand at. France – The French version was called Parcours d'enfer ( Course of Hell) aired on TF1 and hosted by Pierre Bellemare. Buzzing in and answering the question correctly meant that space would be turned your colour. One player had the white spaces, and a team of two players had blue. The idea of the game was to fill in as many spaces as necessary so that a contiguous line of your colour went across the board horizontally (for the blue team) or vertically (for the white player, who could make the journey in one less space than the blues to compensate for their single-ness). The 'two against one' concept proved rather contentious, with many viewers being of the opinion that the double team had an unfair advantage (even if they did have to answer more questions correctly to win), but the format was clearly such a winning one that the whole issue never really mattered that much and it certainly didn't affect the show's popularity or reputation. In any case, there were certainly plenty of single player-victories over all the series.

TVS: Wednesdays to Fridays at 5.15pm and Saturdays at 5.05pm. Mondays and Tuesdays were filled with Sons and Daughters. The fifth series was switched to Mondays to Fridays at 5.15pm and Saturdays at 5.05pm.In the buzzer battle, if a player is unable to give an answer, their teammates may silently act out clues that may help their teammates get there. The show was delayed by all ITV regions until January 1990 as no slots were available to air the show. This was because Home and Away took over the 5.10pm slot and Emmerdale was now being aired at 6.30pm, before it was moved to 7pm in January 1990. Anglia, Central and TSW were airing repeats from September to December 1989. To play the game you will need the movie cards, head-to-head challenge cards and the buzzer. Place these in the middle of the game area for all to access.

After you have completed one word or passed on it, you now do “quote it”. In this challenge, you must deliver a line of dialogue, word for word, to your teammate. They need to guess based on that. Once they name it, flip over your move card and move to the next challenge. The 1987 theme and variants would later be reused on Know Your Heritage as well as numerous commercials and network promos for various products.

Remember which are the easier questions to give to the less able students, it is a great confidence booster to get something correct in a team. When ther eis a winner you there is a music clip and a message that says RED / blue Wins but you have to start it I got to play this over the holidays with family and we had a really good time. I competed against my sister, who is very much like me when it comes to movies. Yes, we are those annoying people who quote the movies we’ve seen too many times while we watch them. Watching Willy Wonka is probably unbearable with me. The first time we played was with four people. I felt like that player count can work if the teams are somewhat balanced with movie knowledge. But it can get frustrating if your teammate keeps guessing actors instead of movie titles. Not that that happened to me a couple of times. We had a much more enjoyable time with six players and I felt like that evened things out a bit. So I’d recommend your minimum be six unless all four people willing to play are movie buffs. This timer will kill your ability to recall information.
