This works out well for her since she needs to keep a low profile due to being a murder suspect, which is another misunderstanding.

Both of the young female main characters are models with unstable financial situations, without anyone to depend on other than themselves.

When this book was donated to my Little Free Library Shed, I couldn’t help but say yes to wanting to read it. Davis is quickly becoming one of my favorite historical authors, especially if you are looking for a historical mystery. I think this might be my favourite Fiona Davis novel although I still need to read The Lions of Fifth Avenue. A captivating story whose characters are richly drawn, The Magnolia Palace pays particular attention to those who might go unnoticed: the deaf private secretary, the museum intern, the organ player.

It was quite an interesting read and it would probably appeal to someone interested in either the museum or the arts. When the police came to question Angelica and she realized they thought of her as a suspect in the murder, she escaped from her apartment through a window and down the fire escape. Fiona Davis is the New York Times bestselling author of six historical fiction novels set in iconic New York City buildings, including The Magnolia Palace, The Dollhouse, The Address, and The Lions of Fifth Avenue, which was a Good Morning America book club pick.The other half focuses on English model Veronica Weber who in 1966 is taking part in a Vogue photo shoot at a museum that was the former Frick residence. Hers was one of the smaller apartments in the building, with only one bedroom, where she and her mother had slept. I almost didn't finish the book, but in the end the two stories merged together and it turned out fine.
