Quinine on the nose. Britvic Tonic smells like a tonic. Mid-palate there’s a definite sweetness about it. The bubbles are medium sized in texture and last for about 1–2 seconds. Today, Gatorade is available widely in major retailers and is the sports drink chosen by more professional athletes than any other brand, including football teams such as Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool FC, the NFL and the NBA to name a few. Britvic, the third-largest mixer brand in the UK 1, is introducing its first-ever flavoured tonic with an Elderflower addition to its range . Launching exclusively to the licensed channel in April, the new variation will capitalise on the increasing popularity of elderflower, particularly as gin and flavoured tonic is the number one spirit and mixer combination for consumers 2. In 2013, a no sugar version was created – maintaining the same great citrus taste as the original, but with zero sugar to meet growing consumer demand for sugar-free energy drinks. Britvic has been making and selling Pepsi in Great Britain since 1987 and in Ireland since 2007. Originally known as Brad's Drink, Pepsi was first created in 1893 by a pharmacist in the US called Caleb D Bradham who began experimenting with combinations of spices, juice and syrups on a typical hot and humid day in North Carolina.
