Dose adjustment of IV for patients with acute or chronic renal impairment, based on Creatinine Clearance, Cr Cl (mL/min/1.73 m2): Advise patients to wash their hand before and after applying the cream, and to avoid unnecessary rubbing of the lesions or touching them with a towel, to avoid aggravating or transferring the infection. People with particularly severe recurrent herpes labialis should be encouraged to seek medical advice. If you accidentally get cream in your eye, wash out thoroughly with warm water. Consult your doctor if you are concerned. Use the cream for up to 5 days. If the infection has not healed after this time, you can continue to use it for a further 5 days. Never apply Lipsore 5% w/w Cream to an area ofthe body called the mucous membranes, as thecream can cause irritation. These areas to avoidinclude the inside of the mouth and nose and theinside of the vagina.Continue treatment for 4 days. If your cold sores haven’t healed after this time, you can use the cream for up to 10 days in total. Use of the cream should be considered only when the potential benefit outweighs the possibility of unknown risks however the systemic exposure to aciclovir from topical application of aciclovir cream is very low. Aciclovir works by preventing the virus from multiplying and spreading so helping the immune system to fight it off. This means it will help the healing process of current sores and prevent new ones from developing. Aciclovir will not eliminate the herpes simplex virus or prevent future outbreaks of cold sores occurring. It also won’t stop you spreading the virus to others. In a non-standard test in rats, foetal abnormalities were observed, but only following such high subcutaneous doses that maternal toxicity was produced. The clinical relevance of these findings is uncertain. Aciclovir cream is not intended for use in your mouth or vagina, or near your eyes. This is because it may irritate these parts of your body. If you have sores in any of these areas, you should make an appointment to see your doctor, as alternative preparations can be prescribed which will be suitable for you to use. Rabbits had 1, 3 or 6% aciclovir cream in a white petrolatum vehicle introduced directly into both eyes 5 times daily at 90-minute intervals for 3 weeks. Neither autopsy nor inspection nor histological examination revealed any pathological changes in the rabbit eyes. Vial containing 250 mg Lipsore 5% will be reconstituted with 50 ml infusion solution and vial containing 500 mg Lipsore 5% will be reconstituted with 100 ml infusion solution. Besides, Vial containing 1 gm Lipsore 5% will be reconstituted with 250 ml infusion solution. 10 ml of the infusion solution will be added to the vial containing 250 mg, 500 mg and 1 gm Lipsore 5%. Shake well and transfer the required amount of solution to the infusion container. The final concentration of Lipsore 5% will be not more than 5 mg/ml. Tell your doctor or pharmacist before use ifyou are taking any regular medication on prescription or over the counter products.

Do not scrub aggressively at your lips, as this can cause damage that will lead to soreness and inflammation. Cold sore sufferers should be advised to avoid transmitting the virus, particularly when active lesions are present. Apply a thin layer of the cream to the infected area and the skin immediately next to it, 5 times a day at intervals of about 4 hours.
