The book started off at a point where the characters had pretty much independently been in love with each other, throughout the entirety of their childhood- but we didn't get to see ANY of that. This purity book is amazing! It has a great good between scary and romantic parts. The author did a fantastic job of writing an exciting story filled with suspense, drama, and exploring relationships between people of different ages and long-time friends.

Skyler Mason has written a story that shows just how your upbringing and parents influence can effect your life. while i don’t really have issues with these characters existing, i think the redemption arcs of all of the characters that took complete advantage of mari’s grace were rushed. it didn’t sit right with me that people who treated her without respect (honestly brandon included) were able to finish this story having done the bare minimum to deserve a place in mari’s life. to me, there was not enough action for them to deserve that level of forgiveness, and it sort of felt conflicting with the growth of mari discovering that she is enough as she is. i rarely advocate for longer books, but in this case i would have liked to see a bit more balance between the poor treatment and actions seeking forgiveness. I believe my definition of "kinky" and BookTok's definition have a bit of a... difference of opinion. I really don't like the i-have-loved-you-for-years-but-i-f-everybody-else. h is pure ofc, but dreams about H and marriage to him, but at the same time 4 out of 5 years she thought she could only have Christian husband.They really care for each other. And it wasn't just about the two of them, it was about their relationships with her family. Especially the sisters. I really, really feel for Sofi. It's so, so hard being unmarried in our world but 10% times harder to be unmarried as a Christian woman. we have Whitney (h) who cheated on Mark (H) 15 years ago with her childhood crush. Mark has not been able to forgive her since the And the spice, was there. The beautiful execution of book 1 and the amount of spice from book 2 if not a little more. it’s a young adult, so be warned. The characters are 20 and in college, so if this is not your thing you may find it boring. And then they on the beach getting sand up their butthole and other places but he slips his eggplant in and she's like OOP! And he's like OOPY-OOP! That be a hymen! Then when he said he loves her, she said it is only because he is afraid of losing her, and leave his house. She needs space so he gives it to her. Then when they meet up an unspecified amount of time later he tries to explain and apologize. She’s exceptionally angry that he didn’t believe she was a virgin before their first time and he’d told people “she’s probably lying” about it. (An ex of hers had lied and told H that they had had sex once before they broke up). She accuses him of being an actor and now she cant trust anything he says or does. People who enjoy reading about family dramas will love this book. Additionally, if you like mysterious stories that are a bit dark and set in a famous city, then this thriller will definitely satisfy you. Purity by Skyler Mason Review

All we saw was a lot of already existing, unexplainable feelings for each other (they were legitimately already in love with one another when the book started). So there wasn't anywhere to go. I don't think either one of the two was good enough/ thorough enough to make the book worthwhile. The more that I read, the more underwhelming it became. The one thing this book has going for it is that it’s NOT a “she was a bet!” plot (even though, confusingly, it seems like it’s setting that up). From the start, the heroine is aware of the bet. So, there’s no angst or tension about “when will she find out?!” But….there’s also not much angst or stakes about anything! Early in the story, they mutually agree that he’ll be her choice to sleep with. So, the entire flow of the story is odd– no tension, and not much plot. Just the characters awkwardly orbiting around each other, after they’ve agreed that they’ll have sex. There is some alright dirty talk, but it feels sudden and random, like this story threw it in Just Because. Since I’ve literally slain the only other book I’ve read of this author, I was feeling a lil bit guilty and I’ve decided to give her another try.
