Description

Beers don’t just amplify the taste of your bread, but it also affects the look of a bread. Technically, adding beer to bread is a substitution for water and yeast. It interacts with the baking powder to give that extra lift and tender textures into your bread and cakes. Store beer bread in an airtight container or a resealable plastic bag for up to 3 days at room temperature. It is best eaten within 24 hours. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine bread mix, 1 tbsp. of Everything Bagel Seasoning and ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. It may rise into odd shapes from the action of the beer, you can see my loaf pictured has a large bubble on top on one side!

Herbs and seasonings: Mix in your favorite fresh or dried herbs to have more flavors. Rosemary or thyme are some of my favorites!

Add the brown sugar and white sugar. Add the beer and mix together until it forms a dough. Beer: Beer helps this bread rise, and it also adds flavor. Substitute: If you are worried about too much sugar, substitute the sugar with the same amount of honey.There are two kinds of beer bread, both of which are incredibly simple. In fact, my favourite way is so simple a child could do it (disclaimer: don’t let a child do it). All you need to do is mix a 330ml bottle of beer, 375g of self-raising flour and 3 teaspoons of sugar in a bowl with a spoon. Pour it into a bread tin, top with a drizzle of melted butter and bake at 180°C/360°F for about 50 minutes, or until golden and crisp on top. So it’s natural that beer and bread should go together. They are, in effect, brothers. Or sisters, because history tells us they were almost certainly invented by women. So we won’t hear any of the rubbish about beer being for men.
