One point to consider is the news that the BBC expect all their channels to be available via the internet within 10 years, allowing linear and time shifting (on demand) viewing. As for supported apps, while the standalone Netgem Netbox does NOT have a Netflix app – TalkTalk’s version of the 4K TV Box DOES have a Netflix app. First, you get all the free over-the-air Freeview channels (provided you have good reception in your house).

It’s also limited to being able to record only one programme at a time and you’ll only be able to watch channels on the same Freeview multiplex as the channel you’re recording which can limit your options if you want to record one show while watching something else. If, however, you're happy using a smaller selection of streaming services in exchange for the ease of using one device for live and smart TV, this could be the streaming box for you.

In terms of firmware, Humax states that it will be upgrading numerous aspects of Aura’s performance, from video and audio enhancements to an improved UI experience.

I doubt they will turn off terrestrial broadcasts at that time but it does signal the future of streaming.
