Masters of Chaos is, as the subtitle suggests, a history of the US Army Special Forces, sometimes known as the “Green Berets.” It’s important to understand that this is a specific, specialized, branch of the military, not to be confused with the more general term “Special Operations”, which covers not only the Army Special Forces, but also groups like Navy SEALS, Delta Force, and other groups made popular by eighties action stars. For the rest of this review, I’ll refer to the US Army Special Forces simply as “Special Forces”, because it’s easier, and because I understand they prefer that term to “Green Berets.” All creatures within 20’ of the caster must succeed a Wisdom saving throw or suffer from the Confusion spell. I like to keep things simple and affordable. I don't believe in adding unnecessary complexity or charging exorbitant fees. My approach is all about finding a balance between principles and instructions.

Until the end of your next turn, you swap immunities, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities with the nearest hostile creature. The dark bishop, green chaos serpent, reiver and wendigo from Hexen also appear in many levels, along with the Disc of Repulsion artifact. Instead of being placed in levels directly, they are spawned at the start of each level that includes them using an ACS script. Blood Scepter - a weapon that shares slot 5 with the Hellstaff and uses the same ammo as that weapon. It normally fires rapid-fire projectiles; when tomed, it instead unleashes a wraith that rips through enemies until it expires (similar to the wraiths summoned by Hexen's Wraithverge) and consumes 10 ammo at a time. It is not actually stated where the adventurer in Master of Chaos begins the adventure, or where the wizard Amberon is based. All we know is that the adventure begins far across the sea from Ashkyos, possibly in Allansia or the Old World.Special Forces soldiers are daring, seasoned troops from America's heartland, selected in a tough competition and trained in an extraordinary range of skills. They know foreign languages and cultures and unconventional warfare better than any U.S. fighters, and while they prefer to stay out of the limelight, veteran war correspondent Linda Robinson gained access to their closed world. She traveled with them on the frontlines, interviewed them at length on their home bases, and studied their doctrine, methods and history. In Masters of Chaos she tells their story through a select group of senior sergeants and field-grade officers, a band of unforgettable characters like Rawhide, Killer, Michael T, and Alan -- led by the unflappable Lt. Col. Chris Conner and Col. Charlie Cleveland, a brilliant but self-effacing West Pointer who led the largest unconventional war campaign since Vietnam in northern Iraq. However, opponents can avoid this effect when they prevent the summons of your light and dark monsters. Opponents can play cards such as Trap Hole to destroy a monster when you summon it. Master of Chaos requires monsters with these attributes. You are unable to activate this effect without the two monsters for the tribute. Third Effect: This is a great overview of Special Forces (specifically that is Army Special Forces, not Special Operations Forces generally), from the late 1980s (Panama invasion) to 2004 (early Iraq war and occupation). I'm pretty familiar with Army SF (lived/worked with them for a while in Iraq; structurally, probably the best designed part of the US military), and it was interesting particularly to learn about the 90s SF (which I didn't know much about), and their use in Panama.

Gravity is reversed in a 20' radius around you, up to a height of 50' and lasts until the end of your next turn. The book was written by a journalist who embedded with specific ODAs, and thus told the stories of individual soldiers (who were largely representative of SF overall), which makes it a more approachable book. I generally prefer the books written by the principals themselves, rather than journalists or outsiders, but Robinson does a very good job presenting information, and it's a longer time scale than most individual careers would have covered (plus, only a very small percentage of the military was involved in any of the conflicts pre-2003). Also a great audiobook format with a good narrator. Furthermore, this effect may slightly offsets the cost for the fusion summon with Dark Magician as fusion material. You may use this effect to special summon Dark Magician from the graveyard after fusion summon. You regain the monster from the fusion summon.
