Helen Palmer Geisel died in 1967. Theodor Geisel married Audrey Stone Diamond in 1968. Theodor Seuss Geisel died 24 September 1991. Dr. Seuss has a magical way of rhyming and creating rhythm that appeal to young and old. You begin reading about Aunt Annie's alligator and you're off into that delightful rhythm that keeps you and the children hooked to the very end with the Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz. Seuss never disappoints - the rhyme and rhythm are always precise, all because of his great imagination. Nixie Knox and Willy Waterloo, Warren Wiggins and Waldo Woo are all wonderful characters that take us through the travels of the alphabet. In 2015, Random House Children’s Books posthumously published a new Dr. Seuss book, titled What Pet Should I Get?, after the manuscript and sketches were found by the author’s widow in the couple’s home.

You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room. In May of 1954, Life published a report concerning illiteracy among school children. The report said, among other things, that children were having trouble to read because their books were boring. This inspired Geisel's publisher, and prompted him to send Geisel a list of 400 words he felt were important, asked him to cut the list to 250 words (the publishers idea of how many words at one time a first grader could absorb), and write a book. Nine months later, Geisel, using 220 of the words given to him published The Cat in the Hat, which went on to instant success. Beyondddddddddd frustrated about that though 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 I gave the two stars because 1.) the book is interactive and that’s really cool and fun so it got them the two stars. 2.) it’s FIVE dollars for this single interactive book. It sounds cheap but as a single mother providing for her child that is a bit over budget for a single interactive book. So that would have gotten me to give them 1 star or less. I really thought there would be more to it than just the book.
