The headphones will theoretically always be charging when they aren’t on your head because the receiver also doubles as a headphone charging stand.

Own Zone Wireless headphone surrounds you with stereo sound. It connects to your audio source with AUX, RCA, or optical. Both headphones can’t be used passively with a regular audio cable when their batteries are depleted, which is disappointing. On the bright side, you can easily replace their batteries with regular, non-rechargeable AAA batteries if they run out of power at an inopportune time. Furthermore, both have power-saving features in the form of auto-off timers. They automatically turn off when they have been muted for 15 minutes or when out of range from the transmitter for more than five minutes. The RS 175 have a much more bass-heavy sound even with the bass boost disabled. Their treble is better than that of the RS 185, with more detail, while their mid-range is decent. If you want even more bass, you can enable the bass boost mode. You can also enable the virtual surround sound feature, but it doesn’t really make for a significantly better listening experience. Film dialogue was crisp through the RS 175, and with Bass mode on or off, the headphones pumped out plenty of rumble when watching modern TV and movies. Surround mode can make dialogue sound pretty unnatural, though—voices outdoors in the middle of fields got the same ambient-sounding reverb as if they were in a room. I recommend leaving the Surround mode off, but there's no reason you can't test it out and see if you personally like the effect. The charging cradle/transmitter is a significant part of the design for these headphones. In our opinion, it’s neither particularly attractive nor ugly.
