So Abbi was naïve and Henry was a jerk. Sometimes authors tend to use the ‘tell’ method when developing characters instead of ‘showing’ character traits through their actions but in this case, the naivety and jerkishness of the characters was utterly believable and very well portrayed without the author ever once having to say that either was naïve or a jerk. These are just traits these characters had and I was completely convinced. Hell, I was even convinced of their conflicts and instead of following the expected route, I was pleasantly surprised at the realistic outcome of the conflicts between these two personalities.

Was this something I normally read? - No it's not... But who cares... sometimes you have to branch out what is normal and just enjoy that 3rd slice of cake when no one is watching...Owner of the luxury hotel chain, Henry Wolf is cool and composed, successful with everything he touches, and undeniably beautiful. And for some reason Abbi can't fathom, he wants her—the farm girl from small town, USA with no corporate experience—as his personal assistant. And thinks that their daughter should stay with her cheating ex until he satisfies the sinner in himself… Forced to leave Alaska to run the family farm while her father recovers from a tragic accident, Abbi heads home knowing she has the one thing she wants most again –Henry’s affections. She’s determined to not let anyone get in the way of that again. The spice was pretty good at first, and then got great!! I loved that the FMC’s (Abby) character was an innocent church going farm girl who, after being cheated on, threw her arms in the air and said “screw it” to always doing what’s considered right by her narrow minded community and decided to do what her ex was doing- explore her sexuality. This premise produced some pretty spicy scenes especially with her more than willing MMC (Henry) who catered to her sexual growth. I was very much not correct and very much not disappointed. In this case grabbing the glass to taste Coke when I expected Pepsi turned out to be equally if not more satisfying.

Like I said, this book is more on the sexual discovery of Abbi, which I was really excited about. She really let go and found out things about her that she never knew she was into. Good for her because god knows she deserved to let her hair down. However, the circumstances leading to her sowing her oats? I'm not sure how I feel about that. Abbi is a virgin from an extremely religious family. Her faith and virginity were quite important to her and she’s lived a sheltered life making her very naïve to the world. At this point I was thinking: “Oh god, not this shit again.“ No rating. I knew this would be a hot mess. I read it because I had never come across a series where the innocent virgin heroine goes Debbie Does Dallas when the slutty hero breaks up with her. 😂 Despite the complaint about hard to connect with characters, I still very much enjoyed this story and the spice in it. I absolutely wish that there was an epilogue where we got to see them married with kids and living a fabulous life, but I guess it’s up to our imagination. Abbi Mitchell has battled her family and won. She finally has what she wants most—Henry Wolf, committed to her and within arm’s reach most nights.One of my favorite interactions between Abbi and Henry is when they first meet, it was her first time being drunk. So she was rather honest with her thoughts and it was hilarious especially because she didn't know that he was her boss at the time. That was definitely one of the sweetest moments between the two. Part of me wants to take a star away because it feels like there is more story to tell. Yeah it ended, nicely, but not closed book ended.
