Why not give this job to an actual fan who would of been paid in peanuts to do this job properly and not write so many inaccuracies that it seems like fanfiction. The film was followed by Hocus Pocus 2 (released on September 30, 2022).

I had just recently watched the new sequel film, so when I stumbled across this novelization at my library, I was thrilled to see what might have been in store for readers in this revisit of the original film. Twenty-five years later, Max and Allison’s seventeen-year-old daughter, Poppy, finds herself face-to-face with the Sanderson sisters in all their sinister glory. When Halloween celebrations don’t quite go as planned, it’s a race against time as Poppy and her friends fight to save her family and all of Salem from the witches’ latest vile scheme. The only negative thing about this book is some of the detail in the illustrations. Winifred’s dress has no design. Also, her hair is orange like everyone else for some reason. Her hair is a dark but vibrant red. Also, Allison is blonde for some reason. In the film, she is clearly a brunette. Even though the witches sing “I Put A Spell On You,” the spell they recite is wrong in this book. A lot of people misquote it as “alpha maybe uppendie”, but it’s actually “oppa”, not “alpha”. You can see his lips say “oppa”, also the subtitles on the DVD and Disney+ say “oppa”. I was hoping they would get it right since most people don’t.

They don't won't this book to be actually associated with the franchise but if that is so why manufacture it?

The spells from the film are completely different to those in this book. Why? I don't understand. Ardent fans of the film would like the words to be the same, and the majority of those buying this book, are fans of the film. Why is this the most lazy trope in anything to do with magic and witchcraft? Why write things in Latin at all? There was no Latin in the hocus pocus film. So why would it be in the supposed reproduction of their spellbook. It's a lazy attempt at mysticism when it cannot be tied to the franchise it is based off.
