The support and communication we have received from Jon, Luke and Andy at Brave Bear has been top-tier. I can’t see it becoming a family heirloom, unlike many of the books we bought for our children long ago which are back in use again now (Shirley Hughes, Helen Oxenbury, the Ahlbergs, etc. I love the front cover with the use of quite warming colours and the pencil lines that portray the bears in a friendly, cuddly way, rather than grisly and scary as they are sometimes perceived in other children’s books.

However, i did pick it up and read it with one reception child and throughout she was happily pointing out and explaining elements of the illustrations to me.
