My surprise present from my son was superb--the presentaion box is absolutely delightful,and my 1st sample tasted of Yamazaki 12yr old was really impressive. This easy-drinking blended whisky from their extensive range is light in aroma and flavour, making it a good option for newcomers to the whisky world, or for lovers of cocktails who, with this, can serve a highball with a punch. This tasting set is a great introduction to Japanese whisky for beginners with five 30ml single malts and blends - each with tasting notes - from famous Japanese distilleries such as Suntory and Nikka. Firm believers of 'try before you by', this tasting set lets you try five small versions of blended malt, blended and single grain Japanese whiskey. On the palate, that coolness gives way to a smooth alcohol warmth, mint notes and some lemon that mingles with the sweetness of the malt.

All three are Single Malt whiskies, but each boasts a different flavour - from rich and fruity notes in the ex-Bourbon barrelled classic Single Malt, to toffee, oak and red fruits in the Founder's Choice sample.
