Instead of trying to negotiate (or even work for a living), the Fox family makes a run for it and they end up endangering all the animal families that live in the hill, the Badgers, the Weasels, the Moles, the Rabbits, etc.

It is not a fluffy read, it does have lots of scheming and violence that might scare the youngest of readers, but it is not too graphic or too scary, but does add tension to the tale – the farmers use guns and shoot Mr Fox’s tail off, Mr Fox kills chickens with a quick snap of his jaw etc. Children will be taught eventually in school that stealing is perfectly fine, but they will be taught it under the more civilized and devastating guise of capitalism, the rights of corporations over people and the other legalized theft that our society holds up as the makings of success. But the three dim-witted and mean farmers have had enough of Mr Fox stealing from them and constantly outwitting them with his trickery and cunning and a feud between Mr Fox and the farmers ensues. Mr Fox is an anthropomorphic, tricky, and clever fox who lives underground beside a tree with his wife and four children.Stealing can be political and it can be used as a very very weak brick against the wall of capitalism (but really it's more like throwing a feather into a tornado, it's not going to do shit), but it can also just be selfish and unnecessary. They carry their loot back home, where Mrs Fox has prepared a great celebratory banquet for the starving underground animals and their families.

Three farmers (Boggis, Bunce and Bean) want to kill a fox so they grab their shotguns and camp at Mr Fox's hole.

Many were originally written for American magazines such as Ladies Home Journal, Harper's, Playboy and The New Yorker, then subsequently collected by Dahl into anthologies, gaining world-wide acclaim. In 2009, it was adapted into a stop-motion animated film by Wes Anderson and included the voice of George Clooney as Mr Fox. Mr Fox dug three tunnels, to each of the farm’s cellars and managed to steal all he could to feed all the animal families! And b) because the publishing industry has enough problems right now with money, and it's not as if books aren't available for free at libraries.
