The relationship that develops between the children and Brielle is genuine and adds a great side-story to the overall plot. I changed my rating so many times while reading this book I can't tell which way is up or down anymore.

After the worst start to her employment imaginable, almost getting herself fired on the first night, she gradually gains the trust and friendship of Julian’s two children, the sweet young Samuel and the troubled teenage daughter Willow. So this guy, a mega rich judge got his wife pregnant accidentally but he did the "right" thing and marred her but he didn't love her and so they weren't really"together". Possible Triggers: Yes Loss of a spouse to suicide (off page), the H has 2 children from previous marriage, the H used prostitution after his wife died (off page mostly but a few on page) *mention of using prostitutes while married by other reader, but I don’t remember the book to say accurately* And there is a ~13 year age difference between the h (25) and H (38). Brielle turned out to be a refreshing delight although I’ll admit at one point I felt it could have gone either way.Now that I have finished reading the book and am writing a reivew about it, I slowly realize that this is one of those books that makes you love it while reading it but when you are telling about it, it makes you wonder why or how you liked it. He sucked with his kids, he wasn't even present in their lives and honestly the sex scenes with him were cringy, not at all sexy. In conclusion, if you love trainwrecks with an alphahole hero and lots o’ sex and not a whole lot of sense, you may enjoy this. Brielle and Julian try to ignore their attraction for a short while but they cannot resist the sizzling hot chemistry between them for long and they start a “friends with benefits” arrangement.

I mean, it’d been a long time since I’ve read an alphahole book, but usually I can find something to enjoy, especially when you get to see the hero let go of the jackassery and embrace the love. When they break up, he goes to his old “therapist” which is actually just a place where he used to have sex. Julian Masters were like this all through the book: I wanted to smack him, strangle him or kick his rich and arrogant ass but then, I wanted to hug him, kiss him better and say everything will be OK in the end. Masters is not a man who is still mourning after his beloved dead wife and doesn’t want to love and lose another woman again.

Some parts felt too convenient, some did not make much sense, and I'm not the first one to say how badly this author needs an editor ( not even a good one, any will do at this point), because mamma mia, it wasn't even funny at times. Just upped my review from 4+++ stars to 5 as I keep thinking about this book and l really think it deserves them. It's essentially an age gap workplace romance with benefits between a damaged, arrogant hero and a young woman that radiates optimism.
