If you don’t mind tinkering a little bit with technical devices, the Voxelab Aquila 3D printer is a solid investment. You could do the same thing using a few screw nuts and a bit of patience, but the silicone bed mounts are quite cheap and will allow you to have your bed fixed much faster. This model features multiple individual bodies that print-in-place to create an articulated model that can flex around without falling apart. This means that if you want to print faster, print more detailed models, or make any changes to the slicer at all, you’re on your own.

As mentioned in the review, one of the first Voxelab Aquila upgrades I recommend is a better hotend. Power Recovery: Resume printing seamlessly even after unexpected power outages, saving time and filament. The Aquila X2 uses a Bowden extruder which remotely feeds material through a PTFE tube to the hot end during printing.Additionally, it is compatible with various filaments including PLA, ABS, and PETG, giving you the flexibility to explore different materials and achieve the desired results. The Creality 3D printer line is completely open-source, allowing for add-ons and upgrades of almost every component on the machine. The interface and controls for VoxelMaker are nearly identical to FlashPrint, which uses a ‘Basic’ and ‘Expert’ mode for selecting print settings. The Aquila X2 is the current flagship of the Aquila line, featuring several hardware improvements over the original Aquila. This is a piece of software which can be installed on a Raspberry Pi that will allow you to add remote control for your 3D printer right from your computer browser. Any of these hotends should allow you to print higher temperature materials more reliably without having to service your printer that often. One of the coolest features about the Aquila printer is that you’ll get a nice, color TFT screen with the unit. Utilizing a build volume of 220x220x250mm and a heated build platform, the Aquila X2 is a direct clone of the Creality Ender 3 series of printers and has many of the same hardware features. If you want a better extruder for your Voxelab Aquila, then you can give the BMG extruder clone a shot.With its replaceable build plate, you can easily remove completed prints and start on your next masterpiece without any hassle.
