I like to make this in one pot, but I have also tried making some of the elements separately and combining them at the end. I was going to stay just before Christmas and didn’t fancy taking them out for a meal in the pre Christmas crush so was looking for something that we would all enjoy and that my 14 year old granddaughter could put together and be pleased with what she produced (ie that involved some effort and tasted good when served).
