The Vigor 167 is VDSL2 35b and ADSL2+ modem to Ethernet bridge, connecting VDSL or ADSL to your Ethernet-based Router or Firewall. It provides proven compatibility with UK VDSL2 and ADSL2+ networks. a. My SNR up and down is 12dB (which is probably a stability profile). Is there a Telnet command to drop this (as in earlier Draytek boxes)? I did some exploring but couldn't find any "vdsl snr" equivalent. b. The default Modem Code is 5.12.24.0. However, it is possible to select two other Modem Codes, being:

Thanks very much for the replies – indeed, this is what I was missing. With 192.168.1.10 set as the laptop static IP, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.1.1 it all worked fine. Have updated firmware to 5.0.1 now.Ideal partner device for DrayTek dual-WAN products or any other vendor's Ethernet WAN firewall. Reports DSL Line Status on DrayTek Vigor routers.

I've been running one for the last 4-5 months, and been happy. It has been syncing well and seems to have been quite reliable. I got it to replace a box that apparently couldn't handle "SOS". Hi folks and Mr Dreytek, I've just replaced a DM200 (which was apparently confusing poor Mr NBN due SRA ?!?!) with a Dreytek Vigor167. Upgraded it to latest software (5.2), connecting was easy enough, and all seems to happy.

The only means of running the second "router" ...with all devices on that having same network as the primary... is to disable the routing and DHCP functions, turning it into a switch. Oh that's pretty interesting. I like the idea of squeezing more speed, although at 1,100m from my node there probably isn't much I can do anyway. I am using the same DNS, same router (vigor just set up as a bridge modem, same as the old TP-Link). The Vigor 167 can be setup as a standalone VDSL modem to pair with existing Ethernet WAN routers/firewalls or it can be used as a basic router.

I want to get a reasonable bridge modem that ideally supports SOS, so I was trying to decide if Vigor167 is a good substitute for Vigor130. Extensively tested to meet your expectations, the Vigor 167 provides a reliable and secure DSL connection and is compatible with all current UK UDSL2/ADSL+ networks. Although I wonder for if having SOS will be beneficial for me as I'm quite far from my NBN FTTN node and only sync at 25/6 Mbps.
