I appreciate the author's diligence, work and dedication. We all have different tastes in books. Please do not let my opinion of it stop you from reading it. This book gripped me right from the opening chapters. Former therapist turned stay-at-home mom Jules lives a nightmare when she swerves her car to avoid a deer and ends up in an icy lake. Confused and disoriented, she latches on to a hand and rises to the surface. She realizes with her horror that she's saved the wrong boy. Her son is still submerged, while her neighbor's son is safe. I also wanted to add that the plot was well thought-through, and the ending was surprising for sure! The parts where Jules talked with her psychologist were also excellent.

While some people love murder podcast, I love corrupt evangelicals podcasts, so I've listened to several featuring the story of the downfall of Jerry Falwell, Jr. and the toxic culture he fostered on the Liberty University campus. Many times, Granda stated he was “deeply ashamed” of his actions, especially when he tried to have a girlfriend, but was still involved with the Falwell’s. He even introduced a couple of his girlfriends to the Falwell’s, but never told them the truth of his relationship. Granda never stated he was sorry for his actions. Granda seemed to not have a moral compass. Former therapist Jules Hart crashes her car in an icy lake. She reaches out to save her son but instead saves her son's friend. Reeling from her son's death, Jules has a decline in her mental state. She is not acting like herself and is engaging in unhealthy and inappropriate behaviors. The title sums it up. Jules literally goes off the deep end by crashing her car in the icy river. Then she mentally goes off the deep end and begins grooming the other survivor of the crash, a 15-year-old boy named Isaac. And when Isaac goes missing, his parents wonder if it was because of a serial killer snatching boys off da skreets or because of Jules going off the deep end.Overall, this story could have been so much better. There were a couple of holes that were left, including the initial person of suspect that the police were linking Isaacs's disappearance too. This one was left kind of cold and unanswered. This was my first book by this author and I really wish I had chosen one of her other titles. The following version of the book was used to create this study guide:Heffley, Greg; Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Deep End. ABRAMS Books, New York, NY, 2020. Kindle AZW file. The family is trying to save as much as possible but they have to have a family adventure together. So off they go to a road adventure borrowing Uncle Gary's camper van. Damn, I just couldn't bear the second hand embarrassment the family had to face following the trip 🤦😂

Jules Hart's life shatters when she crashes her car into an icy lake. Her son and another teenager plunge into the cold waters with her. She could only save one, and she saves the 'wrong' one. Meanwhile there's a serial killer on the loose killing teenage boys. The MO fit's perfect into Isaacs disappearance. Out walking dog, cell phone found on the side of the road, and a perfectly wrapped box of the last clothes he was wearing discovered in a local park - like all the other victims but Amber can't and won't believe it. It's Jules, Jules, Jules and she is not willing to consider anything else and will stop at nothing to prove her point. Extremely disappointing telling of a good story, mishandled by a co-author and turned into an anti-Trump propaganda piece filled with mistakes and biased leftist spin. Your kindness is appreciated.Jules Hart by her own admission has had a dreamy life one without tragedy and loss, that is until the night she loses control of her car and it plunges into the icy depths of the lake. In the car with her is her only child, 15 year old Gabe and the neighbours 15 year old son Issac. lots of focus on the sister of kid who goes missing and the fact that she sleeps in her parents bed but… not really that relevant I am really unsure what the author was going for when she wrote Jules but what we got was a childlike idiot who couldn’t seem to make up her mind what kind of diagnosis she had... I mean at one point she was homeless and being ‘inappropriate’ with herself in a park… PLEASE unnecessary!! 🤢 This book could have been so good, so much better if the adults were easy to tolerate. Jules might have even been someone who I could have developed actual sympathy for, if not for her gross behavior. Not something I really wanted to read about. Maybe things like this does happen, after all the author is a psychologist. It just seemed, out of place.
