Measure 8 grams of coffee and add it to the filter basket. If you’re using the scoop, it’s pretty much level with the top. The pump mechanism is easy enough to depress. We’ve already told you that the Nanopresso takes more to clean than the Minipresso, and reviewers agree. Pre-heating your Nanopresso helps warm the body of the brewer up so that your extraction is clean and smooth. When it’s time for the extraction, the ideal water temperature should be close to boiling, or about 195°F. Personally, I prefere ground coffee or Nespresso pods instead of E.S.E coffee. Innovative design – The Minipresso uses a semi-automatic piston. With each push of the piston, small quantities of water are injected into the coffee adapter. After you have pushed a few times, the extraction pressure will reach an optimal point and you will no longer need to push, your rich and bold espresso will be extracted. Despite the Nanopresso’s body and components being made from plastic, it somehow feels very robust and solid. That being said, it still comes in at just 333 grams (11.7oz) on my scales. It may be that you’re extracting too much water (A Lungo) If you’re making a single shot, try to make your drink about 30g, if it’s a double shot (with the Barista Kit) Try for around 50g. Then add additional water if you’d like it less strong.

In fact, we feel like it’s precisely because this machine is so simple and the technology is boiled right down to the essentials, that it’s easy to tweak and see immediate results. Within a few days, you do feel like you’re learning a lot about honing in on that perfect espresso.
